COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We teamed up with our buddies from Indiana-based Sun King Brewery  for a CANlaboration project to unite the brewer’s friendship and passion for pushing the boundaries of craft beer in a can.   Brewers from Oskar Blues and Sun King made the trek to each others breweries for months, and are excited to bring you CHAKA, a limited-release Belgian-style ale — the first craft beer to be packaged in the Alumi-Tek® re-sealable pint bottle from Ball Corporation. CHAKA will be released May 3rd 2012 at the Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego in each attendee’s hotel room and at special events throughout the weekend (see below!).   The following week the brewers will make limited quantities available at the Oskar Blues Tasty Weasel Taproom and in Sun King’s home market.

Solid belgian ale. A little bitter at the end and a little simple. Booze is fairly well hidden. Like the aluminum bottle.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours copper with a off white head. Taste Belgian yeast, fruity, sweet, caramel. I thought this was good. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Global Brew. Pours a clear orange with a thin off white head. Has a fruity caramel aroma. Taste is sweet caramel malt, honey, fruit, rock candy, and mild bitterness. Almost cloying, but good.

Tap at BD Brum, 8/5/14. Orange/blond pour, offwhite head. Nose of Belgo esters, clovey spice, sweet citrus, light caramel. Tastes moderate sweet light bready caramel malt, moderate bitter spicy hops, light caramel sugary action, lots of sweet, spicy yeast notes. Body is medium full, carbonation is medium. This doesn’t quite hit the spot for me, not dry enough, not light enough to do what other comparable Belgians do. The flavours are all there but not brought together with the subtle elegance of the better examples.

Sample @ Oskar Blues in Asheville during RBWG. Hazy amber with a small head. Loads of active Belgian yeast on the nose. Fruity esters dominate. The taste has some new world hops. Mild cantaloupe and citrus fruits. Somewhat bitter, mildly sweet. Medium body, very active carbonation. Not my thing, but decent.
