COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We teamed up with our buddies from Indiana-based Sun King Brewery  for a CANlaboration project to unite the brewer’s friendship and passion for pushing the boundaries of craft beer in a can.   Brewers from Oskar Blues and Sun King made the trek to each others breweries for months, and are excited to bring you CHAKA, a limited-release Belgian-style ale — the first craft beer to be packaged in the Alumi-Tek® re-sealable pint bottle from Ball Corporation. CHAKA will be released May 3rd 2012 at the Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego in each attendee’s hotel room and at special events throughout the weekend (see below!).   The following week the brewers will make limited quantities available at the Oskar Blues Tasty Weasel Taproom and in Sun King’s home market.

>> Clear amber pour with weak foam. Nose is apple cider vinegar. Taste is toffee, sugar, browned banana, cider vinegar. Palate is sugary, papery, headache inducing. Could be renamed Belgian malt liquor with the amount of fusel alcohol in here. Belch.

From a can at the brewery 2014 RBWG. Pours slightly cloudy medium gold with a minimal white head. Sweet malt aroma that carries with it some fruity bubblegum. The flavor follows the aroma, some spice in the finish.

Cool as all hell aluminum canister shared on the RBWG bus tour (LaZoom!). Moderate wheat notes, mild bubblegum and table sugar sweetness. Dry and crisp finish. Not bad.

16 oz can at the brewery. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have nice Belgian character, light spice, yeast, fruit, nice clean beer.

Pours copper with virtually no head. Aroma is very faint but it is sweet, floral, and fruity. The flavor is very crisp and clean reminiscent of fruity cream soda. The alcohol is hidden very well beneath the light candi sugar. I always expect great things from OBs and have never been disappointed.

On tap at Duck Island Alehouse on new years eve 2013. Pours a slighty hazy dark amber brown color with a medium off white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of belgian yeast, belgain candi sugar and doughy bread. Tastes of the same things in the smell with sweet burnt sugar flavor almost like baked beans. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy with good carbonation. Pretty good colaboration. A nice sweet and hoppy american style belgain stronge ale. I was glad i was able to try this rarity on tap.

Can-poured a deep red with a small, foamy head and large bubbles of carbonation. Yeasty aroma hits from the moment you twist the lid open along with some malt. Taste is yeast and some fruit, but light. A little hop kick on the finish. Alcohol not noticeable. Brevard brewery

Bottle shaped can. Pours amber with a whispy white head. Nose is rotten fruit, stewed veggies. Flavor is similar, light malt detected. This is fairly horrible.
