COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We teamed up with our buddies from Indiana-based Sun King Brewery  for a CANlaboration project to unite the brewer’s friendship and passion for pushing the boundaries of craft beer in a can.   Brewers from Oskar Blues and Sun King made the trek to each others breweries for months, and are excited to bring you CHAKA, a limited-release Belgian-style ale — the first craft beer to be packaged in the Alumi-Tek® re-sealable pint bottle from Ball Corporation. CHAKA will be released May 3rd 2012 at the Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego in each attendee’s hotel room and at special events throughout the weekend (see below!).   The following week the brewers will make limited quantities available at the Oskar Blues Tasty Weasel Taproom and in Sun King’s home market.

Great Packaging, perfect for outdoor activities. First time seeing a screw top can for craft beer. Decent beer, would love to get a session IPA in this type of can. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A poor attempt at a solid Belgian by Oskar. Sort of falls short in all categories: strange dark fruit palate, weak and thin malts, seems thin on the hops too. The only real thing it has going for it is its nose and how penetrating ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft @ Bottlecraft, San Diego, CA. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty aroma with hints of caramel. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy yeasty caramel finish.

Nice sweet Belgian type aromas with some biscuit and a touch of peppery hops. Slightly sweet taste but nicely balanced and a good representation of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Tap n Handle. Amber/copper and pretty clear with a sticky white head. Malty sweet light caramel aroma with light alcohol. Similar strong flavor. Medium body with a smooth feel. Not bad.

On tap. Mostly clear orange-red color. Thin off-white head, good retention. Good lace. Medium to bigger body. Very smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. very easy to drink for an 8% Belgian. Sweet taste, light bitter. Alcohol is well-hidden. Sweet candy sugar, light caramel malts, satisfying lightly citrusy hop. Noticeable belgian yeastiness, but nothing thats bothersome, heavy, or cloying. Good stuff! Deceptively drinkable.

On draught at Lizardville. The beer pours a hazy reddish-brown color with a medium white head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, dark fruit and yeast. Medium to full body with flavors of ripe fruit, yeast, grainy malt and a touch of hops. The finish is fruity with an earthy yeast aftertaste. Decent all around.

Poured a dark amber, almost red, with a foamy head made up of large bubbles. Head retreated to leave thick lacing. Nose was subtle - sugar, spiciest, yeasty. Taste was nicely spicy with a bit of bite on the back of the tongue. Interesting twist on a Belgian ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Common Table. Dark amber pours with a white head. The first thing I get is a lot of alcohol. Once that has dissipated I get some nice orange citrus and spice notes in the aroma. The flavor has those two notes as well as some Belgian yeast and a bit of biscuit malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

draft at Blue Monk, caramel colored pour, somewhat flat, small head. Fruity, caramel flavor, fruity yeastiness, candi sugar. Belgian characteristics but an OK version

On tap at Old Chicago Westminster poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of carmel, yeast, fruittiness and spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, yeast, spice and light fruittiness with a smooth lingering carmel finish.
