COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume.

Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can?

Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers canít, where flavorless canned beers donít belong. And no matter where you drink Daleís Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

Deeper copper pour than most pale ales. Light to medium white head with quite a bit if lacing. Can definitely smell the "c" hops in the aroma. Citrus, grapefruit, floral hops. Nice malt character too tho. Caramel and a little bit of Munich. Flavor is very similar, but slightly more malt forward than the aroma. Still driven by hops tho. Good beer. ---Rated via iPhone

Smells great, grassy, caramel, hop aromas. First can had a violent head on it. More bitter than sweet on the mouth. A fine APA.

Can from utobeer. A classic. Good drinking. Sweet, malty and a sensible strength. Not sure who Dale is but he doesnít mess around.

Can. Potent caramel aroma with pine and pineapple accents. Hazy dark copper under a thin write, lacy cover. Bitter pineapple flavour with some light nuttiness and apricot. Medium body, lingering assertive bitterness, medium carbonation.

Pours deep clear amber. Head is semi-creamy off-white. Aroma is lacking. Mostly just caramel malts and some wet bread. Taste is malty sweet with a dry grapefruit and resin finish. Harsh hop spice and alcohol taste for only 6.5 ABV. Good APA. We like em bitter!

Can poured. Golden copper with a off white slightly creamy head. Caramel, grapefruit, and dough aroma. Medium to full body. A good mix of bitter, sweet, and a tiny sour taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

RATED 5/16/09 ON BEERPAL: At first I was hesitant about trying this because it comes in a can. I must say though, this is the BEST canned beer that I have had. I donít know if something about storing it and chilling in a compact can, or if it has something to do with the pressure....but this is very good beer. Nice and sweet as an american pale ale should be! Slightly hoppy, but not overwhelming at all. Pours a golden-copper copper, with a very nice head. Itís tough to drink just one.

Can at home, thanks to James, 03/04/15. Clear amber golden with a well appointed cream covering. Nose is caramel, straw, floral, bread dough, light hops. Taste comprises sweet malt, caramel, melon, bread dough, orange pith, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop bitterness. Decent APA of the malt lead variety, good balance.

Poured from their new gas station tall-boy can (they cleverly call it a "stovepipe") into a dimple mug. This was a real let-down after years of anticipation. I canít understand how it gets such high ratings. Predictable true-to-style APA look and feel, caramel malt sweetness with extreme American hoppy traits. The description lists several tasty varieties, but grapefruity and dank resiny Columbus hops were all I could detect. Coarse to the point of harsh, with a strong metallic edge. Way too much alcoholic heat for a 6.5% abv. Not a harmonious, well-crafted ale overall. Perhaps this was a revelatory microbrew years ago, but there are countless flagship APAs nowadays which are far tastier.

Can / Realale Ltd / Twickenham. Pours a lovely copper colour. Taste is a little sweet with nice malty caramel flavour. Itís a hoppy pale ale but not overly so in comparison to a typical American IPA. Overall I was pretty underwhelmed.
