Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume.

Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can?

Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can’t, where flavorless canned beers don’t belong. And no matter where you drink Dale’s Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

Had this beer in the can and then again poured into a pint glass. The beer had a semi-cloudy and slightly-dark amber/copper color with a large foamy white head that had good retention, but little cling and average lacing. The aroma featured grainy and earthy hops, touches of spice and citrus, and a lighter straw and mash blend too. Its taste was somewhat grainy and bitter, and was a touch sour and fairly malty with light notes of sweet caramel giving way to a heavily bitter finish. The body was fairly dry with a filling mouthfeel, that had overall average carbonation but some good life and fizz.

Mild aroma of hops. Nice deep yellow cover with a tan head that had lasting power. Nice sweet malt up front, quickly followed by a bitter hop bite. Malt has roasty characteristics. Bitterness is firm with a long aftertaste...not too overpowering. Not bad.

Small head leaves little retention but a good deal of lacing. Orange and lemon flavors with a sweetness on the finish that is very enjoyable.

1/27/14 12oz can into tulip. Pours a honey color with one finger lathery head. Smell is pine and citrus with a bready backbone. Thin carbonated mouthfeel. Taste is hops and citrus peel. Overall, easily drinkable and refreshing. Would be a outdoorsy beer. 4/5

From a can, on the train. Great balance between bitter hops and weighty malt. Superb texture, creamy yet not remotely cloying, very clean in the finish. Hop fruitiness comes through too, but it’s predominantly bittering hops.

Smells warm; biscuit with a little caramel. Has good body with a slightly bitter pine flavor; some oatmeal and bread. A solid beer.
