COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and four kinds of American hops, it delivers a blast of hop aromas, a rich middle of malt and hops, and a thrilling finish. It weighs in at 6.5 % alcohol by volume. Why squeeze such a big brew into a little can? Because we think fun in the great outdoors calls for great beer. Our cans go where bottled beers can't, where flavorless canned beers don't belong. And no matter where you drink Dale's Pale Ale, our can protect it from light and oxidation far better than bottles do.

Northern Brewer for bittering, Cascade and Columbus for flavor, and a big, post-boil addition of Centennial for aroma.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2012 Canned - of course. Pretty good maybe not quite as awesome as its reputation might indicate. Amber, hops etc, well balanced. I like it, don’t get me wrong.

Aluminum can from South Bay Drugs: Created a huge development of thick patchy foam while the liquid appeared as a burnt orange hue. Aroma is bold with an upfront serving of strong west coast hops that amaze me, and make me wonder is this really a pale ale style? The flavor is heavy with west coast style hops and comes across high in alcohol making this above average for the typical pale ale style especially from an aluminum can.

355ml can @ BrewDog. Rich golden amber, decent head. Mild hoppy aroma. Creamy honey hop flavour. Pine aftertaste. Quite an unusual pale ale.

Draft at Cedar Point. First time I’ve had this on draft but have had many cans through the years. Pours amber with fluffy off-white head and lace. Hoppy nose with grapefruit and pine, some caramel. Medium body. Sweet up front with a moderately bitter finish. This used to be one of my favorite APAs but I suppose my tastes have changed but still a really solid beer.

If there should be a prototype American Pale Ale, it should be this one. Pours a crisp, clear and beautiful amber ale with small head but decent lacing. Aroma is very subtle on the grass side, but with all pale ales there isn't much happening in the nose. The taste is very well balanced with quite a good load of hoppy bitterness. There's a lot happening in the taste. The malts are really nice for this beer and necessitates the balance. Good palate and excellent as a cold beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The original craft can. This beer brought me to my love of APA’s. The only complaint I ever have is some of the onion tastes that you get while drinking. Still, great beer.

Deep golden pour. Aroma is citrusy hops, spruce, and a little floral. Medium bodied. Flavour has good hop flavour with good balance. There’s some bitterness on the finish, but it’s restrained. Quite good.

Can. Nice golden color with a nice head that disappears slowly. Taste like a pale ale. Citrus, spruce flavor and aroma.

Nice stuff. Sweeter than The mikkeller I just had. Better all in all. Citrusy and filtered
