k4df4l (141), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 27, 2007 Can - clear dirty copper pour with a moderate head that dissipates to a thin layer but never quite disappears. Nice big piney hop aroma with caramel base. Well carbonated with a medium palate. Flavor of caramel and sweet malt but not cloying or syrupy followed by a resinous piney and citrus hop finish. Sure, caned beer has become a hipster accessory but this is an exception; delivering plenty of flavor at an affordable price letting you keep plenty on hand.
beergod! (21), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 7, 2008 Dale’s pale pours a nice toasted amber. Aroma is of nice bright hops. Taste is dominated by big citrus hops, and very balanced smooth malt. This beer is a great example of why you shouldn’t judge book by it’s cover. Big beer in a small can, Dig it!!! ajm (341), USA Sep 7, 2008 Not bad at all. Tap at Brown Dog’s in Telluride. Full aroma of sweet hops, great malt bill for balance, and yes: a smooth finish. Flavors of apple, orange juice and brown sugar amongst the smooth malts. troyc (943), A ’moist’ county, Texas, USA Sep 7, 2008 (Can) Pours an orange/amber color with a small amount of head. Strong aroma of pine and citrus. Hops also dominated the flavor, with some subtle sweet caramel and biscuit notes. Sticky, thick mouthfeel. Lots of citrus in the finish as well. Relatively low carbonation. A very good beer, especially for being in a can. Not sure why this beer isn’t considered an IPA though... mistersinalin (273), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 7, 2008 Wow! I was really impressed with this beer. Not only was it relly flavorful and hoppy, it is full of football instinct. I had six of these and auctioned one solid fantasy footbal team. mikey (321), farmington, Utah, USA Sep 5, 2008 Poured from a 12oz can hazy honey/amber color with a thick, tight foam cap. The nose is huge with grapefruit and pine with toasty/bready malts. The tastes starts with a snap of grassy, piney, grapefruit hops. Then comes sweet, caramel apple malt with some sweet and slightly boozy esters in the end to accompany an almost tongue-numbing hop bite. This is one of those sleeper beers. It comes at you all unassuming in it’s average looking can, then bam! it knocks you on your ass. Bravo. A very good American Pale.
