This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

Pours an hazy orange amber color with medium cream-colored head. Nose has caramel, pine and citrus. Taste has pine with an nice, quickly dissolvin palate and a hoppy aftertaste. The model of what an IPA should taste like.

[5750-20130826] 1pt can. Citrus fruity aroma. Murky, dark orange brown body with a huge long-lasting creamy off-white head and lovely ringed lacing. Leafy grapefruit hops flavour has a bitter bite throughout. Full body is quite bitter and hints at a big ABV. It might be a little muted from age but itís still very drinkable. (9/5/8/3/17) 4.2

Amber colored body beneath a white head with lacing all over the glass. Hoppy flavor comparable to many in itís style. Flavor is of grapefruit rinds, a bit of pine, and citrus. Itís a solid beer, even though I feel like Iíve had this same profile many times previously.

Rust orange, filtered clear. Extreme grapefruit, resin, lemon aroma. Cleaning product dosage. Pool water. The future is crystal clear and the flavor delivers, with the clumsiest of pinesol and wood cleaner hop approximation. Chlorine-like clanging noise. Butterscotch, messy fruit sugars, and dirty caramel provide the unwieldy, slobbery malt notes. Only close to tolerable when ice cold. This is an example from the dark ages.

Pours from pint can a clear, rusty amber color with a moderately full, white, fluffy, creamy head which settles to lots of drippy lace. The aroma is wonderful with earthy, resinous, some pine, some raw hops, light tangerine. The flavour is similar with a high, earthy, raw bitterness; other notes of tangerine, pine, lots of resins, and faint dry herbal. What a friken knock out beer! The beer is perfectly blanaced in every regard. It pours perfectly, smells like odd heaven, tastes even better, yet it still somehow lacks the intangible for a 5. Try it wherever you find it, immediately.

Can from tderoeck. Many thanks! Shared with tderoeck and Erwin. Dark orange colour, beige creamy foam. Aroma of honey, pine and tropical fruit. Sweet with bitter hoppy finish. Well balanced. Very good.

Dark orange pour with ample white head. Smells like fresh wet hops still on the vine. Very aromatic the second the can opens. There is a strong malt backbone but the hop flavor is so so dominant. Piney resinous floral hop flavor and finish. Terrific beer if you love hops.

Poured from the can into pint Goose Island pint glass. The color is a dark orange/amber with two fingers of foamy white head with some nice lacing left on the glass. The smell is pine with something like a Douglas fur aroma. The citrus fruits come out in spikes poking out and giving hints of grapefruit, and lemongrass. As the malts you do get some vanilla and caramel aroma to frame things off and balance everything together. The taste is hoppy at first as bitterness hits with juicy grapefruit and touches of tangerine, and even grains of paradise. The malts come out and frame this beer perfectly as some nice caramel and biscuit flavor hangs in the background and off in the edges of this beer. The high hop bitterness comes back at the end slaps everything away leaving a bitter hop flavor it lingers for a short stay. The feel of this beer medium bodied and pretty smooth even though there is some push here and there with the bitterness making it feel like it could be a little unmanageable. It has a good drinkable feel and goes down easy

Bit cloudy amber color huge foam.aroma pops out first but dissapears. Bit sharp in taste thin can feel alcohol still refreshing. Intense bitterness stays but no too long to be annoying.
