COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

Pours a golden copper color from the can with a nice off white head and decent lacing. Smell is mostly pine and citrus from the hops, and taste follows suit. A little bit bitter on the back end, but overall well balanced. Nice, but like all oskar blues, its pretty intense.

I normally like stuff from Oscar Blues, but this comes across a little sloppy. Hops are a little harsh and green and the malt is a little too sweet and not complex enough. Not bad, but not their best work.

Pours amber golden with sticky white head. Aromas really pop with citrus, pine, resin, and flowers. There was something off in the aroma-I don't know about "onions" tho...taste is similar along with sweet malts. Love Oskar blues, had higher expectations but solid brew none the less ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 Radiant orange body. Large off-white head on initial pour, good retention, and a fine sheet of lacing. Nose is full of pineapple, pine, resin, orange, and unfortunately, a healthy dose of onion. Something that Iíve found in a number of Oskar Bluesí beers--and havenít been able to really get over. Fortunately, the onion/vegetal notes all but completely disappear in the flavor as the resinous/piney/citric hops start to take over. Medium bodied, aggressive bitternes. A decent effort, but ultimately not my ideal aroma profile.

Bright, big, bodacious and beautiful. Grapefruit, pine and flowers in your face! Um, I mean aroma. Crunchy carmel malt flavors quickly followed by a bracing bitterness. And then some more bitterness and hop flavors with lightly toasted carmel in the finish. Long, luxurious and lasting. This IPA is more beer than many DIPAís Iíve had. Had to downgrade it a little for the hint of onion/grassy hops.

Poured from a tall-boy. Cloudy dark orange, with a mid-size head. Dank citrus hops on the nose, with quite a bit of depth. I swear Iím almost getting peanut butter. This is something like a quad IPA -- just way too many ingredients. Like a super-hopped barley wine, it ends up almost skunky. Reminds me a lot of Gubna. Meh.

Pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma is dank hops with plenty of citrus. Taste is sweet with some citrusy hops and bitterness. Medium bodied and oily. Quite good!

Canned 3/12/12. Murky amber-orange with good white head. Somewhat meager nose of over-ripe orange, resin, grass, weed. Medium-thick with good carbonation. Lots of weed in this one. Good malt back bone with more resin, raw hop pellets, big bitter finish. Not as well rounded as I might have expected from the high ratings.

Pours deep amber color. Aroma is dank hops. Taste is trying to be balanced with loads of hop bitterness being smoothed out by caramel malts. Hops do tend to dominate, but if you were looking for an easier drinking IPA, you probably would not have purchased this in the first place. Great for a hop head.

4 oz pour at the canned craft beer festival in Scottsdale. Pours a bright golden orange color with a nice white head. Aroma is piney hops. The taste is so amazing, the hops are mixed so well. There are citrus, pine and floral hops all playing together. Iíve had almost every beer from Oscar Blues and this is a serious standout. Fantastic!
