3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tallboy poured a copper with red hues, medium off-white head, and notable lacing. Aroma is big on orange and lemon peel and piney hops. Taste is nice blend of sweet caramel malt, bitter hops, and hints of citrus on the finish. Big mouthfeel that lingers long after each sip. A little too much sweetness for me, but overall, a nice IPA.

Tall Boy Can: Pours a clear copperish-orange with a medium off-white head that is mostly lasting with nice lacing. Hoppy citrus aroma has hints of orange peel, floral and pine. Flavor is a mouthful of hop sweetness with hints of grapefruit and a tinglying spicy pine in the dry bitter finish.

Orange peel nose, moderately strong. Clear amber, medium yellow head, good lacing. Overripe orange and nougat flavor. Milk chocolate at midpalate, orange peel finish. Tasty and full of surprises.

Pours deep amber with a bit of white head. Aroma is very strong of hops with floral and pine. Taste is strong bitter. The aroma and taste hide the 8% really well.

Can sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David Cohen. Slightly hazy amber. Lovely hoppy aroma full of tropical fruits and some pine needles. Great fruity hoppy flavor, dry-ish with just light sweetness and a pleasant, lingering, moderately bitter finish. Medium-bodied. A great IPA!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks a bunch to Terminus for picking this one up for me. Pours clear copper / orange with a rocky beige head. The aroma has sweet toasty malt, earth, spice hops and a bit of cleaner. This is overall pretty malt forward for an IIPA. Medium / full body that’s a bit slick and rich with soft carbonation. The flavor starts with the sweet malt from the aroma along with spicy / piny hops along with some mint. The finish has more abv presence than most 8% beers and has a dirty and earthy flavor that sticks with me. Decent, but not up to expectations.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I like it. Vibrant burst of resiny spicy and fruity hops in the nose, flavor is spicy hops, grapefruit rind, malt doesn’t get in the way, bitter but semi-balanced finish. Large foaming tan head over a dark red-copper colored beer.

Had this at the Brooklyn Beerfest and brought a bunch of cans home. Very good, citrus, pine, and something sweet, maybe fruit of some sort. This isn’t just Dale’s Pale Ale with some extra hops thrown in, it’s a good beer in its own right.
