This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

Growler. Poured copper with a creamy off-white head that settled to a ring and left thick lace. Aromas of citrus rind and caramel. The flavor found and exceptional floral and caramel blend. Medium body, smooth, and a medium bitterness throughout.

Poured from a tall boy can. Pours copper in color with thin beige head. Aroma is citrus, mainly grapefruit. Taste is slightly sweet with a fair amount of bitterness to balance. A real treat to drink on this warm July day at the riverbank

Canned. Pours dark orange with a medium sized beige head. Good retention and lace. Bright pine and lemony-grapefruit citrus aroma. Light sweet, medium+ bitter flavor. Full of the same elements the nose hinted at. Medium-light body, oily-sticky texture, and a very bitter, very dry finish. Excellent IPA. Happy 4th of July!

16oz can, haven’t gotten over that yet, still cool. Heavy, pretty orange-brown. foamy head, very smooth. Big piney aroma, mild citrus bite. Very smooth beer, sweet balanced malting, round bittering hops at the end. Not as refined or distinct as a pliny but really very tasty.

Quite a double IPA! Hop aroma is great - citrus, pine, resiny and dank; taste pleasantly rich with bitter backbone that lasts; finish leaves an impression of rich and dense IPA with great full-spectrum hop character.

Wonderful aroma from the hops and the taste that follows delivers all that the aroma promised: mostly evergreen and herb with just a hint of citrus in the back. The beautiful rich color adds a visual appeal to the taste. Not a casual beer, but this one can stand by itself while enjoying a cold one on your front porch. This beer would be a waste if served with the usual party junk food. Save this for a nice pairing with either a mellow cheese (Cammembert, Brie, or Muenster) or a complimentary flavor (Black Diamond or grilled Portabella mushrooms).

16 ounce can. Clear amber color with thick fluffy tan head. Nice hoppy aroma that isn't overbearing. Medium body with a creamy texture. Nice and bitter. Refreshing. Long aftertaste. Enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the can into a glass. Burnt orange with decent head. All sorts of pine and citrus tree sap. Reminds me a lot of their Gubna Imperial IPA. A bit sticky, alcohol is not as evident as expected. A solid offering with Oskar Blues’ signature flavors.

Purchased at Breeze Thru Liquors in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed while hanging out in a floatation device in the middle of Little St. Germain Lake in St. Germain, WI. I didn’t pour into a glass, but I did pour some into a friends empty beer can and could tell that it was a vibrant orange with a noticeable fizzy white head. Aroma very rich in citrus hops, almost like a DIPA except without the extra malt added. Taste was very similar to a DIPA, huge hop bomb and rather bitter with pronounced citrus notes. This was rather ’sticky’ and it was enjoyable, but not on a hot summer day in the middle of a lake. Would definitely like to try again in a proper setting.

Can. Pours a decent cheddar orange with a pleasant aroma of pine sap, orange peel, and grapefruit. Flavor follows suit but an added flavor of cinammon butter rounds it out. Oily mouthfeel. Tasty. Alcohol is hidden well.
