This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

Can of goodness. Great brew, columbus bomb shines through the finish. I am heading to the store to pick up another 4 pack right now.

Very good, but not one of my favs from them. Served at a good temperature with a large, foamy, light tan to cream colored head that slowly settles and plenty of lace. Color is a clear orange honey ambewith a few bubble trails. Aroma is hops, malt, used leather, musty, and musky. Flavor’s much like nose with hop bitterness really standing out, a little malt sweetness, some carbonic tang. Body is good and full but the bitterness makes it a bit rough, carbonation is good. Finish is like flavor and body and lasts a long time. Nice to try, but for me, one and done.

500mL can, pours a clear orange amber with a big white head. Pungent aroma of resinous hops, herbal notes like marijuana, and bready malts to back. Flavour begins with resinous hops, followed by the malt backbone, going back to resin, leaving a prominent pot-like hops note that lingers on and on. Very well-constructed and quite balanced. Excellent.

16oz. can to snifter. Pours clear dark amber with a big soapy off white head that slowly fades to a sticky lacing and foamy film. Aroma has good resinous hops and caramel malt mixed well! Taste is bitter resinous pine and grapefruit with a solid mix of caramel malt (biting). Palate is full slick and chalky. Very awesome IPA that leaves you wanting more!

Tap at Cole’s. Great hop foreward brew. Middle is malty and bitter. Finish is peachy. Lots of lacing and pours amber. Medium carbonation and medium body in mouth. Great beer!

16 oz. can. Canned 03/10/12. Pours a medium, long duration, ivory head, with some lacing, over a hazy, amber (SRM 9) body....nose is heavy resin, pine, hints of grapefruit, minimal hints of toffee/caramel....taste s heavy pine, light citrus, bits of toffee/caramel, hints of floral honey, heavy soapy perfume, finishing with a lingering heavily perfumed bitterness....mouth feel heavy of medium, carbonation adds a lightly creamy mouth feel. There is little doubt this is either a very big IPA or a D/IIPA. The malt back bone is dominated by the heavy hops, which are done with so much skill that it does not matter. The hop complexity is quite impressive, with the malts adding just enough back up. For best appreciation serve this rather warmer than usual. It really opens up then. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7

16oz can. I can never say enough how I love good beer in cans! Pours a deep copper with a big head that fades away after some time. The nose is a bit lacking, but the flavor more than makes up fro it. Hops assault you, but in a good way.

16oz can. I didn’t think this could be any better than Dales - but I was wrong. This one poured a copper color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was dank, hop hop hop. Woah. Bitter and sweet, this one is highly drinkable. So good.

On tap at Old Toad. Crisp amber pour with a cream head. Nose is sticky hops, citrus, grapefruits, rich malts, sweet. Very smooth on the palate, huge grapefruit hops up front, then caramel malts, and a lightly bitter finish with a slight alcohol kick.
