COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

Bright, big, bodacious and beautiful. Grapefruit, pine and flowers in your face! Um, I mean aroma. Crunchy carmel malt flavors quickly followed by a bracing bitterness. And then some more bitterness and hop flavors with lightly toasted carmel in the finish. Long, luxurious and lasting. This IPA is more beer than many DIPA’s I’ve had. Had to downgrade it a little for the hint of onion/grassy hops.

16 ounce can. Pours a nice amber with a three inch cream colored head that lasts. Taste is of caramel, malt, fruit, hops, pine, resin and wood. Similar aroma. Has a decent body with a lingering dry and bitter finish. Easy to drink and rather enjoyable, but doesn’t remind me of an IPA.

Can from brewdog. Amber with white head. Aroma of resinous pine and grapefruit. Taste has lots of resinous pine with some grapefruit also and orange marmalade. Full bodied, a little sweet and a lightly bitter finish. Another winner.

Great beer. Significant pine cone hops. Substantial malt backbone. I would think this would be a double or imperial IPA.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2013 I was happily surprised to find this beer on tap at an eastern PA establishment . I have visited the taproom in Lyons CO on numerous occasions . The 12 oz pour tasted as fresh in PA as in CO . A fantastic Hop satisfaction was had . Delicious . Thank you Oskar for the expansion to Brevard , N Carolina . Sip and Savor.

Good gravy, this is a nice hop forward beer. Aroma is grapefruit and floral hops with a mild malt background. Nice copper color with lower head. Good mouthfeel with some weight and evenly matched carbonation. Grapefruit up front with more bitterness to follow . Well balanced to not destroy the palate. Some malty sweetness in the middle. Great beer.

16oz can from Premier Gourmet. Gorgeous amber-gold, clear, solid lasting fizzy off-white head. Lovely aroma. Lovely. Dry, floral, light resin, some mild grain, a hint of fruit sweetness - just right; don’t detect 8%!!! Taste - follows, plenty of lemon zest, more alcohol, extremely dry - light body, acidic/astringent, solid carbonation, fairly long dry floral bitter finish, building alcohol. Damned good.
