COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

Can picked up at Premier Gourmet. Pour is a true copper , white head and a good amount of lacing. Nose is a nice floral hop. Tastes as expected, sweet hop , a little bitter, with caramel mealtimes alcohol is not quite you would suspect because I is so subdued. Very good.

Poured from the can into pint Goose Island pint glass. The color is a dark orange/amber with two fingers of foamy white head with some nice lacing left on the glass. The smell is pine with something like a Douglas fur aroma. The citrus fruits come out in spikes poking out and giving hints of grapefruit, and lemongrass. As the malts you do get some vanilla and caramel aroma to frame things off and balance everything together. The taste is hoppy at first as bitterness hits with juicy grapefruit and touches of tangerine, and even grains of paradise. The malts come out and frame this beer perfectly as some nice caramel and biscuit flavor hangs in the background and off in the edges of this beer. The high hop bitterness comes back at the end slaps everything away leaving a bitter hop flavor it lingers for a short stay. The feel of this beer medium bodied and pretty smooth even though there is some push here and there with the bitterness making it feel like it could be a little unmanageable. It has a good drinkable feel and goes down easy

Bit cloudy amber color huge foam.aroma pops out first but dissapears. Bit sharp in taste thin can feel alcohol still refreshing. Intense bitterness stays but no too long to be annoying.

Poured from tallboy to glass. Amber hue with thick creamy off white head that lingered. Aroma is huge papaya, mandarin, pear, melon, honey, malt. Mouthfeel is fantastic with a medium body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout with a fantastic hop bitterness in the following and a nice clean marriage in the finish. Overall this is a great brew.

From can at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Beautiful red, clear body, with a medium, creamy, white head. Aroma of pine needles, tropical fruits like passion fruit and mango, grapefruit, red berries, even slight roasted malt notes. Taste follows this seemlessly, with some more, black tea like malty notes. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, with a lively carbonation and it finishes bitter, piney and fruity. Wow, delicious! Propably the best Red IPA I’ve ever had! Amazing how the pine, tropical fruit and malt notes are balanced! High ABV, but very smooth to drink. Definitely worth the high ratings!

I was underwhelmed by the hop character. Definitely could use more hops. Still very enjoyable.

Do these guys make a bad beer?! BOOM! HOPS! At 85 IBUs you either have a make it or break it hoppy beer and these guys did it right! Great IPA. Everything you want. Grapefruit hits you hard initially with the big hoppy finish. Finishes smooth yet chewy. Poured it from the 16oz tallboy can. Definite must drink for the hophead out there. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Pours amber medium tan head. Aroma is very hop heavy - pine floral and citrus aromas. Mild sweet taste. Medium body, lively carbonation, medium bitter hop finish. Overall an excellent IPA

Tallboy Canned on 7-26-12. Lucky it’s been in the fridge for half that time. And luckily, it still has a strong citrusy hop smell as I pop the tab. Pours dark amber, almost brown, with haze from many floaty bits. Big head that fizzles away quickly. Brew is very malty, with alcohol felt rather than tasted. Columbus hops are up front. Leaves a bitter hop aftertaste, but that’s to be expected.

Absolute brute of a beer - in a good way. Straightforward IPA characteristics, hiding a big ABV. Smooth drinking - almost too smooth. Loved it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mild hop aroma. Amber with small white cap, balanced tastevwith some sweetness and carbonated sourness withbtwo bitternesses, one of them remains as aftertaste on the tongue root.
