COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

they claim this to be a "sensory assault" for hop lovers. I consider myself a lover of the noble hop (not actually noble hops, but the hop in general) but this is a bit much for me. pours a perfect ipa color- nice amber hue with a generous off white head. nose is great- hops, piney, citrusy- the columbus hops come through in spaces. taste is pretty in-your-face- you-claim-to-be-a-hop-lover-now-prove-it-and-love- kind of way. all the right notes are there, just not in my favorite harmonies. overly sweet and piney- maybe I am more of a cascade/ centennial girl. hard to say not being the home-brewer type. a solid ipa, but given the choice I would pick something a bit mellower. the beer on either side of this in the flight would work- g’knight imperial red or the old chub scotch.

Another 5 for me. This one is awesome. Super hoppy aroma right after popping the can. The color is a beautiful dark mahogany. The taste is even better. Massive tropical fruit, and pine. Bitter sweetness that works perfectly. This beer is incredible just try it. I can’t review it good enough to do it justice.

Big resinous beer that is a bit oily, but finishes with a bitter bite. Didn’t live up to advertising of huge hop aroma/flavors as they seemed to get lost in the mud. A decent enough IPA...just not anything special.

Keg @ Brewdog Sheffield. Pours copper with white head. Hoppy of course, lots of grapefruit, pine and resinous qualities with a touch of bitterness. Very decent American IPA, nicely balanced and drinkable for the ABV.

Tap at Brewdog, Sheffield. Hazy amber. Thin, clingy, white head. Juicy toffee. Thick marmalade. Dank, chewy fust. Taste is light bitter. Gresy palate. Light carbonation to suit. Marmalade bitter finish. Nice and earthy.

Large format can, poured into a pint glass. Very good IPA. Nice addition to the Oscar Blues line up

Tap at muddy waters. Pint. Light copper with some white head. Aroma not as piney and hoppy as expected. Resin and sugar. Some hop bite but balanced with more malt flavor than I thought it would have. Full bodied and pretty clean finish for the amount of alcohol. These guys can make a pretty good beer.

16 oz can. Medium orange with fine carbonation and a creamy white orange head with heavy lacing. Aromas of apricot, green grass, mango, honey and crackers. Taste has a light fruity sweetness with a strong resiny bitterness. Body is heavier with a slick feel.

Can at Sweetwater. Clear copper pour with a white head. Nice malt and resin hop bouquet. Tasty with a hugest backbone (I’m questioning the age of the can) with a pleasant pine/resin hop note. Good body and mouthfeel. Another solid canned beer from OB.

On tap at the bocktown. Has a pleasant mildly sweet perfumey aroma. Clear brown yellah. Intriguing smell. Wew, fromt the start this is a lick on the jaw then a kik in the back of the throat, wew, quite difficult and dull from a lagar lovers point of view. nmouth coating happy IPA BS. Cannot aprpeciate. Terribly on style, may be a double.
