COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

The canned beer re-revolution continues apace with this subdued IPA.

STYLE: American IPA

ABV: 8%

LOOK: Thinner than I remember, translucent paprika. I’m not sure body is the top priority for a brew intended to be consumed on the patio. A decent enough head that gives when you go and sways when you pull – enough, in fact, that I can steal a sip without frothing my lips.

NOSE: Back to basics in the right kind of way. Pine, orange peel, sugared grapefruit.

MOUTH: Solid, clean, and not at all sweet. Twigs, mellow grapefruit, a little too malty to pop. A wee bit light on the finish, maybe a lack of carbonation, maybe intentional.

Can pours a deep golden, very mild taste of hops & malt with a mild sweet finish.

All I tasted was whiskey. I had on special tap release, so maybe that’s why because the hops were not there at all. Scent is easy enough, but the whiskey is so strong it hurts. I mean it is a whiskey beer, but more whiskey than actual beer. tap

Can, Brewdog Leicester. Deep amber brown with a bubbly head. Malty with sudsy oranges and floral pine. Leafy with herbal notes. Mango and peach with brown sugar. Piney finish. Good.

Beautiful amber golden pour, aromas of pine and resin are immediately present with a good two fingers of foam. First taste is amazingly balanced, alcohol is not upfront, tastes of melon, peach. Awesome beer that I first tasted a couple of years ago but somehow never got to comment on.

Medium amber, clear, covering lace. Full body, intense flavor, silky texture, rich mouthfeel with nice heat and carbonation, lingering and tasty aftertaste. Bitter, dryish, right acidity. Hoppy, resiny, malty, caramel, maple. Delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours impressively red/amber, very clear, with good beige head. Aroma of very fresh hops, almost smells like holding a fresh hop bud in the hand! Mostly pine/grass smell with a hint of citrus and apple. Medium carbonation and good mouth feel. Taste of pine hops with grapefruit/orange zest bitterness. Slight malt before the long bitter finish. Fantastic stuff!

Draught @ Albion. Clear dark amber/copper with foamy beige head, faint creamy aroma, low carbonation, vanilla-strawberry cream tasting (!) smooth bodied brew, lightly bitter medium caramel finish. Astonishingly smooth, and not hops dominated at all.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2016 Clear red with white head. Spicy, wood, hop resin and energy drink. Slick, sweet, hoppy, dry and earth finish. Overall: Nice! I was hoping for more dank hops. Very balanced.

12 oz can. Pours clear amber, with a sticky off white head, and rings of lace.
Aroma is dank, earthy, citrus, pine.
Flavor is hoppy, citrus and pne, with a nice caramel malt backbone. Nicely balanced

Pours copper with a thin white head. Aroma is malty goodness. The taste is a perfect malt Ness with bitterness too.
