COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!

Pours a clear amber with a voluminous frothy white head. Smells strongly of hoppy citrus and floral notes that music to a hop lovers ears. Boozy bitter taste with sweet notes that finishes dry and citrusy. Overall I love this beer and the fact that it comes in a tall boy

Poured from a 16oz tall boy. Pours a rich caramel color with a creamy off-white head. Great aroma, full of bread and cereal under a more dank hop presence. The flavor is equally balanced. Caramel (and a tiny bit of fruit) malt quickly gives way to a solid hop finish. Another very good offering from Oscar Blues.

A beer’s can says a lot about the brewery it came from and the liquid inside. If the recognizable red, white, and blue can coloration of Dale’s Pale Ale could be personified, Dale would be the upstanding citizen who campaigns for truth, justice, and American way. With its black, red, and silver tall boy, Deviant Dale’s India Pale Ale would be Dale’s evil twin. Fans of the much-loved DPA will note the similarities in this IPA. The balance and tropical notes are still there. However, there’s more booze and more hops. And more is good. Deviant Dale’s has a dank, resinous hop aroma, but there’s some malt hiding out in the background. Flavor showcases juicy, bittersweet grapefruit, berry, guava, passion fruit, papaya, pine, and caramel malt. This IPA sports an orange-red color, a rocky, long-lasting head, and gorgeous lacing. I must say, this is a criminally underrated IPA. Not many brewers do justice to hops like Oskar Blues.

Can. Clear orange colour. Lots of alcohol, lots of bitterness, lots of hops flavour. Orange, citrusy, zesty, resiny. Intense. Very good.

Can kindly shared by Miro, many thanks. Amber color with medium off-white head. Caramel malt, citrus hops in aroma. Solid malty base followed by nice citrus hops with zest, resin. Long hoppy bitter finish. Alcohol is dangerously hidden. Tasty.

Slightly hazy dark copper pour with a three finger, fluff of white head that has great retention. Aroma is big on citrus peel, some pine, herbal and thistle-like earthy floral hops, dark caramel, a hint of toffee, biscuit, and husky, spicy, rye-like grain. Flavor is dark caramel, spicy and earthy, rye-like grain, citrus peel, sweet and earthy floral, herbal, quite a bit of pine, just a hint of dankness and a little toffee. Medium body, slightly syrupy to chewy feel, light to medium, blanketing carbonation and a pretty substantial hop acid bite, especially to the teeth. Really good stuff overall, it’s definitely always nice to see a well balanced pine forward IPA that isn’t oily and weird.

Deep amber pour with thin, white top that quickly disappears. Earthy and floral aroma is mouth-watering. Some of that comes through with a bite early in swallow, followed by almost balanced sweet from the malt. This is nearly a smooth finisher.

Thick, frothy head. Amber hues. Hoppy, resin aromas. Oily mouthfeel. Bready malts, bitterness complimented by some lemon and caramel flavors. Nice IPA (almost a DIPA).

Oskar Blues Deviant Dale’s IPA has a thick, frothy, overflowing, off-white head, a semi-clear, rust-orange appearance, some stray bubbles, and heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is of strong, somewhat turned, sweet fruits, white bread, and a touch of pine. Taste is of strong, bitter, slightly-turned fruit (apricot?), white bread, sweetness, and pine oil. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Oskar Blue Deviant Dale’s IPA finishes mostly dry, not boozy, and bitter. RJT
