COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our “Velvet M-80” is a hefty, dry hopped double-red ale with a nose full of aroma, a sticky mouthfeel, a malty middle and unctuous hop flavors. G’Knight sports a surprisingly sensuous finish for a beer of its size (8.7% ABV, 60 IBUs). It’s brewed in tribute to a fellow Colorado craft beer pioneer and Vietnam vet who died fighting a 2002 wild fire outside of our Lyons hometown. Nice dark red. Sweet sugary malt. Balanced tropical hops. Sweet syrupy finish. Alcohol well hidden. Pretty good!

Can from BrewDog Camden. Drunk from the can so gone the average on appearance. Nose is quite tropical and grassy - touch of lychee, mango, pine. More sweet fruits. Taste shows sweet tropical, juicy notes with some grass and grapefruit. Quite resinous and sticky. Bitter sweet finish. Not bad at all

can. Amber red with small head. Imperial red, substantial malt with lots of resiny bitterness. Pretty nice flavor, probably the best of the OB beers I’ve had.

Big ass can. Almost clear copper liquid with medium to big off-white head. Aroma of citrus, biscuit, grain, pine, mango, toffee, weed, caramel and grapefruit. Taste is light sweet and medium to high bitter with notes of citrus, toffee, pine and bread. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice.

Pours amber with a creamy ivory head. Sweet malty aroma with alcohol and citrus notes. Malt, caramel, citrus, pine, and resinous flavors. Full bodied with a warming alcohol effect. Finishes with a slight sweetness followed by a lingering bitterness. A very good beer that I would highly recommend.

aroma of thick caramel molasses style malts with piney and floral hops secondary..cloudy iced tea like liquid with thin creamy white head good lacing..tastes of honey sweet malts tempered with a bit of dry hop tingle..palate is sticky lightly carbonated yet a dry finish that lingers..a nicely unusual beer that takes the irish red characteristics and amplifies them nicely

Draft. Pours a hazy dark amber with a medium sized creamy yellow beige head. The aroma has caramel malts, grapefruit citrus, additional almost tropical fruits, with a hint of earth. The flavor has much of the same with good mouth feel. At under 9 %, this makes for a nice session beer.

Can : Pour is murky dark gold with a modest off white head in this glass; retention is average, with some sticky lacing present here. Nice floral, piney resinous nose here ; moving to robust caramel - the flavor profile is bitter, sticky, floral, piney, resinous hops - it moves to mineral water, and sweet bitterness near the finish - this is a nice drinker- I enjoyed it

Definitely one of my favorites. It hits a perfect balance of hops and malts. Plus there's a really cool origin to its name. It packs a punch, though. The other night I had a couple tall boys with a friend and felt it afterwards. I was celebrating getting hired by Oskar Blues, though, so it was worth it... and now you know my review is biased. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
