3.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This does not taste like an IIPA to me. It is too sweet. It really is what it claims to be on the can, am imperial red. Not a particular favorite varietal, I have found red beers to be lacking in balance. This is my favorite red I?ve had though. Woody aroma, like a lumber mill after rain. Slightly sticky mouth feel. Big malt flavor. Hops only affect the tip of my tongue. A little one-dimensional.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Naming a beer after someone is a dangerous proposition. If you want to capture someone’s legacy with some ale and suds, you want it to be the best ale and suds you can make. The beer is a living, changing testament to someone’s existence. Oskar Blues does the tribute beer right. While G’Knight is a bit of a stylistic oddity (Is it a Strong Ale? An Imperial IPA? Does Red (Imperial) IPA deserve its own category?), it’s brewed in the tradition of Lagunitas Sucks and Stone Arrogant Bastard: lots of hops but also lots of malt. Color is ruby red with eggshell suds. Aroma is redolent of pine, citrus, and caramel. Flavor: bitter grapefruit, juicy orange, grass, pine, and caramel. This is a viscous brew but it’s plenty crisp. It’s a worthy tribute to a deserving individual.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a cloudy darker reddish color with off-white head. Citrus, pine, and caramel malts on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied red ale here. Finishes with a nice citrusy hop note.

Can. Very assertive American hoppiness both in flavour and bitterness. Resiny, citrusy zesty. Alcohol evident, mostly in the finish. Also lots of candyish malty sweetness.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2015 Can kindly shared by Miro, many thanks. Amber color with medium white head. Caramel, citrus hops in aroma. Sweet caramel taste with light citrus hops. Medium long hoppy bitter finish. Very good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: pours with a large light tan head, the beer is a dark amber color with a hue of red to it, head settles into a nice density
Aroma: grass, dank, pine
Taste: has a caramel malt backbone, some alcohol warmth is evident, nice strong bitterness,
Palate: thick mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste, average carbonation
Overall: a good beer but probably not one of my favorite imperial ipa's, the alcohol comes thru in the taste a bit too much

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is a dark red with a large creamy tan head. Aroma is a nice piney hop with a slick oliy malt. Flavor is again a decent hop with a decent heavy malt and I do get a bit of alcohol. It’s decent and ok nothing much more than that as the hops and malt don’t really overpower the other they are just there.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great aromas and flavors of strong earthy malts with a good piney hops presence. Mild sweetness adds balance. Pretty dark amber hue and medium weight with strong carbonation.

This is such an awesome beer! Blissfully rich and caramel with a nice hop profile that is floral. Seriously, this is just one of the best.

Keg (Brewdog, Shepherd’s Bush)
Full malty aroma. Keggy fizzy palate. Full malty body too. Sticky malts. Some earthy bitterness. Rather dull but decent. Covers the alcohol well. Very wll. Bonus point for that.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Imperial red ipa. POurs a copper red amber. Sweet marshmellow caramel aroma, mineral light yeast ester.low hop. Taste is strong, strong dry malt, burnt caramel almost roast like , toast caramel. Has a tart/sweet cherry character to the malt. Woody dry. Creamy. Dry finish. Red ipa is my favorate style not imperial red this is above or average for imperial red. Decent. Lacking aroma for being 20 days old and canned. Kindof on the dry hot alcoholy side.
