I poured this beer from a growler and admired its beauty for a moment. Halfway through my pint I thought this is a beer worth reviewing, so I gulped it down so I could assess the beer from square one. Now I just want to enjoy this Imperial buzz. Laces the side of a glass like you're drawing the shades at night, ready for bed. Heavy aroma, boozy, more going on than I care to talk about right now. G'Knight.

Ah, Gordon. A winter drink for hop heads. Pours dark red amber from the can, good lacing. Smell is grapefruit, pine, dank hops. Taste is sweet, resiny caramel, nicely hopped with a superb thick chewy mouthfeel. The sweetness plus the hops plus the booze soothes the soul--a good one to put you to sleep.

Aka Gordon! From 16oz can to glass. Hazy reddish amber with some muddy tan. Manilla tan head that lasts. Hoppy aroma of citrus, lemon, and grass. Malt notes include some red fruit. Well balanced with sweet toasted red malts, dry citrus grass hops and light fruity yeast to round it out. Thick chewy and thick mouth feel. Its a classic. Long live Gordon!

Draught at Brewdog Edinburgh.
Clear amber-reddish appearance with a medium off white-tan head. Malty aroma with some caramel and fruity hops-yeasts. Nice body with a bit of caramel, after a while the toasted nuts and some caramel arrives. Just a bit of hops in the finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at BrewDog Liverpool. Hazy amber shade with lacing. Fluffy white cap. Heavy on caramel with pine also in the aroma. Tastes of strawberry jam, other red fruits and a faint floral edge. Much softer and fruitier than I expected, with an almost chewy texture. Pretty solid but a heftier malt backbone might have kicked it up a notch.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
It pours a cloudy brown with a full head. There are aromas of dried fruit, malt caramel. It has a rich feel to it with flavors of dried fruit, caramel, citrus, and a moderate bitter finish. There is also a considerate amount of lacing that it produces.
