COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our “Velvet M-80” is a hefty, dry hopped double-red ale with a nose full of aroma, a sticky mouthfeel, a malty middle and unctuous hop flavors. G’Knight sports a surprisingly sensuous finish for a beer of its size (8.7% ABV, 60 IBUs). It’s brewed in tribute to a fellow Colorado craft beer pioneer and Vietnam vet who died fighting a 2002 wild fire outside of our Lyons hometown. this one suprised me. that is why is pays to get the whole flight.....I would never pick an imperial red based on the name alone, but now I know better. pours a deep red with a nice sized head that stays put. good maltiness and hopiness- better balance to me than the deviant. More drinkable. Hops come through but don’t bully the other ingredients out of the way in this one. still really a red ipa to me, but really good.

pours deep ruby amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is a wonderful sweet floral and orange citrus. The orange citrus comes through in the taste as well. Hoppy, but not all that bitter. Almost a bitter-sweetness that follows all the way through the finish. Very mild bitter linger. The 8.7% alcohol is masked incredibly well. Not boozy at all. This is really good beer. Seems every Oskar Blues I try is another home run! They’re in the IPA zone.

A good easy drinking IPA with a smooth finish no bitter after taste would recommend.

Pours a dark honey red brown with a thick, creamy head. Aroma is caramel and malt. The taste is a huge malty backbone with a bitter finish. Another excellent beer.

From can. Pours a dark honey red color. One plus finger cream colored head. Aroma of caramel and malts. Taste is nicely sweet, balanced, rich and full. Medium mouthfeel.

Pours clear red-copper with an off white head. Nose is floral hops and red malt. Flavor is fairly bitter but well balanced. Alcohol is well hidden.

Pours a dull Ruby red color. Small head with good carbonation. Looks like a Irish Red Ale but tastes like an I.P.A.

(Can). Pours a beautiful amber complexion with thick head and glass lacing. Alcohol comes through in flavor. Otherwise a decent boozy red ale with hop bite. Not my favorite from this excellent Brewer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2016 On tap at the brewery taproom in Brevard in Dec. 2015.. Red-amber body with high clarity and a good head that leaves excellent lacing. About average hoppiness for style in both the aroma and the flavor, yet the medium malts still manage to show, providing nice caramel notes and with fait bread and some sweetness to counter the bitterness, Mild-moderate bitterness. Notably more hoppy and piney than OB’s Pinner IPA. Medium body with lively, medium+ carbonation. Overall: a very well balanced IPA\Irish Red hybrid. Partially hidden alcohol.

Oskar Blues G’Knight Imperial Red has nice malt flavors but not particularly outstanding. Red pour with a frothy head giving way to malt aromas. Taste is a mild malt profile -- drinkable but watery given the deScription. G’Knight is a decent red.

On tap. Served a nice mahogany color with a good head that lingered. Aroma of citrus, bit of malt and spice. Taste of malt sweetness with a nice touch of spice, with just a bit of the hops peeking through. Subtle bitterness and a clean feel. Medium body, full flavor, nicely blended. Nice beer to kick back and relax with.
