COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our “Velvet M-80” is a hefty, dry hopped double-red ale with a nose full of aroma, a sticky mouthfeel, a malty middle and unctuous hop flavors. G’Knight sports a surprisingly sensuous finish for a beer of its size (8.7% ABV, 60 IBUs). It’s brewed in tribute to a fellow Colorado craft beer pioneer and Vietnam vet who died fighting a 2002 wild fire outside of our Lyons hometown. Can. Very assertive American hoppiness both in flavour and bitterness. Resiny, citrusy zesty. Alcohol evident, mostly in the finish. Also lots of candyish malty sweetness.

Appearance: pours with a large light tan head, the beer is a dark amber color with a hue of red to it, head settles into a nice density Aroma: grass, dank, pine Taste: has a caramel malt backbone, some alcohol warmth is evident, nice strong bitterness, Palate: thick mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste, average carbonation Overall: a good beer but probably not one of my favorite imperial ipa's, the alcohol comes thru in the taste a bit too much ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is a dark red with a large creamy tan head. Aroma is a nice piney hop with a slick oliy malt. Flavor is again a decent hop with a decent heavy malt and I do get a bit of alcohol. It’s decent and ok nothing much more than that as the hops and malt don’t really overpower the other they are just there.

Great aromas and flavors of strong earthy malts with a good piney hops presence. Mild sweetness adds balance. Pretty dark amber hue and medium weight with strong carbonation.

This is such an awesome beer! Blissfully rich and caramel with a nice hop profile that is floral. Seriously, this is just one of the best.

Full malty aroma. Keggy fizzy palate. Full malty body too. Sticky malts. Some earthy bitterness. Rather dull but decent. Covers the alcohol well. Very wll. Bonus point for that.

Imperial red ipa. POurs a copper red amber. Sweet marshmellow caramel aroma, mineral light yeast ester.low hop. Taste is strong, strong dry malt, burnt caramel almost roast like , toast caramel. Has a tart/sweet cherry character to the malt. Woody dry. Creamy. Dry finish. Red ipa is my favorate style not imperial red this is above or average for imperial red. Decent. Lacking aroma for being 20 days old and canned. Kindof on the dry hot alcoholy side.

Pours rusty copper and amber, hazy. Off white head with good lacing. Aroma is resin, pine, carmel with hints of citrus. Sweet with sticky mouth feel. Really great balance of bitterness for me. Beyond the profile of a red ale and speaks of an almost barley wine quality. Carmel and resin back end that finishes nice. Boozy but balamced. One of my personal favorites from Oskar Blues.

Oskar Blues G’Knight has a thick, yellowish, cream-colored head and a murky, rust red appearance, with lots of substantial lacing left behind. The aroma is of somewhat musty, fruity, acidic, hop resin, and the flavor is of the pine resin (hop oil), red grapefruit, acid, sweet white bread, bread crust, and relatively mild bitterness, brought on, probably, by the high alcohol level. Mouthfeel is rather heavy and even gritty, to an extent (an Oskar Blues characteristic, I find). Oskar Blues G’Knight finishes mostly dry and pretty easily drank.
