On tap. Poured a deeper and cloudy / muddy amberish color with an averaged sized frothy off white head. Aromas of whiskey, woody, pine, vanilla, and some caramel. Tastes of whiskey, wood/oak, vanilla, citrus, sugary, and caramel. I liked this one.

GABF. Hazy golden color with decent head. Nice wood and citrus aromas. Classic Godon flavor just touch with wood and vanilla. Pretty good.

Cloudy brown appearance with faint head. Hops and oak on the aroma, but not overly bourbony. Similar taste with a smooth finish. The hops and bourbon oak in the flavor meshed perfectly.

On tap at OB. Hazy orange in color with a off white head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Oak vanilla and citrusy aroma. Caramel hoppy woody notes. Bourbon, oak citrusy flavor. Malty notes. Finish is bitter. Full bodied. Well balanced. Very nice beer. Very drinkable.

Draught at Oskar Blues. Pours hazy amber with a spare, fizzy, off-white head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (toasted grain, bread), average hops (flowers, herbs), average yeast (sweat) with notes of oak, whiskey, and vanilla. Full bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Dark dark brown pour, thick tan head w/ some light lace. Well hopped aroma, lots of caramel, light grass, and a touch of vanilla. Full well coated lightly creamy palate. Not much dif than regular gordon, some light buttery flavors and more alcohol, I’d prefer the non BA.

Name: Gordon, Oak Aged
Date: March 10, 2007
Mode: Draft
Source: Brick Store Pub
Appearance: opaque orange, lasting creamy cream colored head, thick lace
Aroma: sweet grapefruit aroma arives before you pick up the glass, a hint of vanilla brings out the sweetness in the citrus, as it warms the oak aroma blossoms
Body: creamy body
Flavor: very creamy and smooth sweet caramel malt flavor with an abundance of hop flavor, an oaky aspect blends in nicely with the hop flavor and lasts through a long bitter finish, just a hint of vanilla in the background, the oak really complements the normal sticky sweetness to bring it in balance with the hops while still retaining some of the stickyness, perfect bitterness level

Name: Gordon, Bourbon
Date: June 19, 2007
Mode: Hand Bottled
Source: Brick Store Pub
Appearance: opaque rusty brown
Aroma: sweet caramel malt aroma with lots of sweet hops and light oak
Body: sticky sweet body
Flavor: the caramel and bourbon combine to create a perfectly balanced sweet malt flavor base, lots of sticky sweet pine blends with the malt, a hint of vinally brings out more sweetness
Overall: a pleasant surprise as I expected a bourbon IPA to be overwhelmed by the bourbon but this one balances nicely

Tap @ Max’s in B’more. This was my first beer in a long night of big beer drinking. Taste was very much like that of the regular Gordon, but with the added deliciousness of the whiskey barrel aging. The whiskey barrel aged Ten-Fidy was more intense than this one. I don’t have any technical notes on this one.....The only thing I can say is that I loved the regular version of this and this was every bit as good. I have to have this one again!!

Tap, Max’s American Craft Beer Festival. Pours a clear, reddish-amber color; off-white head with patchy lacing. Chewy, hard candy and vanilla in the aroma. Dense, chewy mouthfeel: plenty of hard-tack candy (a term I think only my grandmother uses anymore?); candy sugar and red fruits and caramel; relaxed carbonation; slight hint of vanilla / wood. Slightly different beast from the regular Gordon: chewer, denser, diminished hop presence. Lengthy, candy sugar and light vanilla finish.
