Amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt and citrusy/piney hops - lots of them. Flavor is the same, more hops than malt. Hop character is sort of a mix between those typical of SoCal and the Pacific Northwest. Medium-full palate with a nice mouthfeel. probstk (1025), Nepean, Ontario, Canada

App.: Dirty amber, light tan head.
Aroma: Big sticky sweet malts and lots of C-hops.
Palate: Medium+ body, medium full carbonation.
Flav.: Like the nose...big sweet, sticky malts and strong C-hops; kinda sweet and fairly bitter.
I’m saturated on the style for the moment. fidel (913), Livermore, California, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 8, 2009 12 ounce can purchased at the Davis Food Co-Op. Aroma has plenty of piney, floral, and citrus hop notes. Sweet, husky, and very aromatic and complex. Smells sooo god. Moderately hazy amber body with a frothy, off yellow head, which leaves great lacing. Sweet, malty start with some roastiness as well as some nuttiness. Seems pretty nutty. Some herbal and spicy hop bitterness tis present in the end. Balanced nicely and easy drinking. A dangerously drinkable brew that doesn’t kill the palate with the hops. marcus (1848), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2009 On tap at Bistro DIPA Fest. This amber ale poured with a huge beige head and a mellow roasted malt flavor. The hopping is just bitter enough to round out the palate. Syd (892), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Can pours clear red amber with a large head and sticky lace. The aroma is citrus and malty. The flavor is quite sweet, citrus, pine, and orange marmalade. The palate is rich, thick, and coating with hop oils. Overall, this is quite nice. I only wish they made pint sized cans. 41cubs (134), , New Jersey, USA

Wow what full balanced richness from this luscious can! Smell of lactose pineyness, like a creamy hopsicle. Awesome look of hazy deep orange and a rich really flavorful light tan head. Flavor and mouthfeel is what all DIPA should aim to be. Beautifully balanced with both extremes well represented and a full saturated sticky chewiness to the mouthfeel. This is what sierra nevada fans think bigfoot is. Congrats Oskar Blues. branspra (210), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Can. Pours a rich amber color, hazy, with a medium, very frothy white head. Aromas of strong hops (both citrus and spruce), a bit of roasted malts, and a little orange. Moderate carbonation with a nice slick, oily texture. Taste is actually balanced with a bitter beginning and then a nice malty finish. Wonderful beer!
