Commercial Description:
Gordon is a dry-hopped hybrid strong ale somewhere between a Double IPA and and Imperial Amber Ale (IAA). Brewed in tribute to the late Gordon Knight, Gordon is brewed with massive amounts of American hops and features about 85 IBUs and 8.7% alcohol by volume. Orange/amber pour, nice off white head arose. Citrus, pine aromas, faint sweet malt. Interesting for a pale, almost creamy mouthfeel. Nice bitter hop up front, but quickly mellows to some sweet malt and light red and citrus fruits. Little biscuity. Very clean, alcohol well hidden. I particularly liked it because it was not just a hop bomb. Pretty excellent version of the style.

Wow- interesting take on an Imperial IPA. Pours a deep copper with a creamy off-white head. Heavy on the aroma hops- floral with notes of light sugar, lemon, and slight citrus. Flavor is mellow malt with water, sugar, and a lingering floral sweetness in the finish. I really like this Double IPA.

12 oz. can. Pours a clear amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of citrus and pine, with more emphasis on the citrus. The flavor is again citrus and pine with more emphasis on the citrus, along with a bit of caramel. I especially like the hops contribution to the flavor without being prickly on the palate. The mouthfeel is somewhat resinous and fairly smooth. Very nice beer.

Can as shown. Pours a hazy copper amber color with a medium frothy off white head. The aroma is a piney hops and citrus. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is light malt with pine hops. Hides the alcohol well, a great Double IPA from Oskar Blues.

Can from New Beer Distributors, NYC. Fruity aroma. Sweet and spicy. Cinnamon, mint, black cherries. Somehow balanced by bitterness to avoid being cloying. Lovely.

On tap. Pours a deep amber with a finger of white head. Aroma is coniferous hops and sweet malt. Flavor is coniferous, sweet malt, maple, citric, and a slightly bitter resinous finish. Very nice. Carbonation is good but not overpowering. Palate isn’t adverse and alcohol is well hidden. Good beer.

Pours a amber/dark cooper. Nice pine and citrus hop aroma. Good bitterness, but at the same time it was also a little sweet and incredibly easy to drink. Very little carbonization. I do like Imperial IPAs coming from a can. Thanks for the brew BOLTZ7555.
