Commercial Description:
Gordon is a dry-hopped hybrid strong ale somewhere between a Double IPA and and Imperial Amber Ale (IAA). Brewed in tribute to the late Gordon Knight, Gordon is brewed with massive amounts of American hops and features about 85 IBUs and 8.7% alcohol by volume. Once a winter seasonal, Gordon is now a year-round, limited-supply offering.

Orangish amber with a tiny white head. Hoppy nose, piney and grapefruity. Flavor is crisp hops under some sweetish caramel malt. Very nice.

Very good beer here. Pours a copper color with a creamy off-white head. Big aroma of malt and hops. Tasty honey and hop flavors. Perfect balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Fantastic mouthfeel. Delicious.

Pours a beautiful copper/rust color with a tall frothy yellowish tan head. Aroma hits you with hops and malts simultaneously! Sweet caramel apple like malts with a nice sweet pine hop. Wow, very flavorful beer with an amazingly smooth palate. Honey and caramel initial flavors just melt into a lightly floral hop finish. Truly the best beer from a can.

Can. Pours clear amber with generous offwhite head, lacing from top to bottom of glass. Aroma of hops, pine and citrus, with a strong caramel note as well. taste is well balanced -- big malt up front, some caramel but not overly sweet, with a piney, citrusey hop bite coming on in the middle that fades into a dry, hop bitterness that sits on the palate. Mouthfeel is quite oily, a little chewy. Nice beer.

Tasted 4/11/08. 12oz Can. Hazy with an amber hue. Moldy off-white head. Big nose. Big hops. Nice hop profile. Notes of grassy piney resinous citrus hops. Runs the gammit of hops. Full bodied with sweet malts. Big hops and mild effwervescence. Hop palate is just as dymanic. Piney and grapefruit. Dry, but not too dry. Sticky with a nice rolling palate start to finish. Mild alcohol note. Solid. Nice bitterness. Mild cinnamon and ginger note. Well done!

Can via sloth/slob..the three toed cretin. My second oskar blues product since the gate installation. Pours a cloudy gold with a dense rocky head that sluffs off itself into the beer....weird, like a small avalanche of head. Sticky and red just like the can promised. no idle boast there. The bite in the rounded body reeks of the dry hop processand is well executed. Skip the ten fidy and have another one of these. I had defined this as an Double IPA before reading this but what the hey. Dont bite your tounge....this beer will do it for you.

Pours hazy amber brown with a small fluffy white head. Strong aroma of piney/herbacious/resinous hops. some tropical fruit undertones, and a bit of almost burnt caramel. Herbacious hops hit hard right upfront with resinous piney notes and a bit of mint followed by strong wooded earth flavors and slight fruity undertones. Palate is medium, a bit lighter than expected, but although a bit watery feeling, the finish is still there.
