Commercial Description:
Gordon is a dry-hopped hybrid strong ale somewhere between a Double IPA and and Imperial Amber Ale (IAA). Brewed in tribute to the late Gordon Knight, Gordon is brewed with massive amounts of American hops and features about 85 IBUs and 8.7% alcohol by volume. Once a winter seasonal, Gordon is now a year-round, limited-supply offering.

draught. now this was one tasty beer. tapped a dark amber with zero head into a chalice. the bouquet was hiding a bit but I did coax out a slight lemon-grapefruit aroma. flavor was reminiscent of a good iced tea. had a delicate feel in the mouth. bitter finish. well done.

Pours a clear amber brown colour with a two finger, sudsy head that retains well and leaves excellent lacing. The nose is heavy caramel, piney, floral continental hops and some buttery toffee. The flavour is very hoppy, with a great amount of piney, resin-like hops butterscotch sweetness, and a buttery toffee and resin hop finish. The body is full and the texture is slick, with a sticky-sweet, yet dry finish.

Pours a dakr nut brown with a thick head that thins out but never fades. The nose is of bitter hops and amber malt. The flavor is very malty with lots of grain, yet there was still a nice bitterness that made the brew enjoyable. There was some woody after taste flavor but nothing really intence. The booze was not well hidden in this but still refreshing to the palate.

(draught - Birreria Paradiso in Georgetown) hazy dark orange with an off white head. Mild aroma of hops and sweetish malt. Flavor is very balanced floral hops and strong malt backbone.

From a 12 fl. oz. US) can with a lot code of 6 09 13A1 B A.. Pours an amber-brown with a puffy beige head that stays on top of the glass for much of the session. Overpowering aroma of hops and subtle sweetness combined. Taste is extremely hoppy. Whew, this stuff packs a punch too and you don’t notice the alcohol until your head is spinning. Very good.

Can from mcbackus: Pous a deep copper with a nice white head. Lots of hops on the nose, very floral. Taste is very nice with tangerine nose and slight pine. Finish is slightly sweet and hoppy.

Amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is malty, with caramel, maple, and a light alcohol sweetness. Taste is a nice hoppiness followed by caramel, and crystal malt and a very light alcohol warming.

Can from Vintage Cellar. Aromas of pine and floral hop. Copper/amber color with a decent off-white head. Very smooth, near creamy, carbonation. Seems about medium in body. Lightly roasted caramel malts nicely balanced by lots of hop. Not harsh, just good. Leaves a bit of tingle behind. The finish balance is fairly dry, and the hop keeps on. Nicely bitter.
