RSRIZZO (1337), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 17, 2007 Had this beer at the All Colorado Beer Fest on 11/10/2007. Aroma is wonderful, its full of fresh hops and a nice malt tone. Color is a deep brown with good carbonation and a some what thick tight head. Taste is rich and hoppy. Starting with a full body it goes down with a rich feel. Finish comes in with a sweet roasted malt flavor that is backed by a full hop flavor and mellow bitterness. This is one of the tastiest and well balanced beers I have had. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Nov 11, 2007 12 oz. can. Poured a perfect clear copper color into the tulip. An inch of head stuck around for awhile, leaving speckled lace on the sides of the glass. The scnet was piney hops, honey and carmel. Nice mix of hops and malt, with the piney, grassy hops slightly prevelant. A sticky mouthfeel and good mix of sweetness and bitterness on the palate. Excellent strong ale, a new favorite. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Nov 10, 2007 Pours out a nice coppery brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is hoppy, sweet, and maybe a bit grassy. Flavor had a nice hop bite to it with a smooth resin and sweet finish to it. I like this one. Nice beer! Dhrjericho (66), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 9, 2007 Fantastic hoppy beer with a nice malty touches. Given multiple cans at the Idaho Beer Festival in Idaho Falls in 2007 from Oskar Blues booth. Great guys...better beer. csbosox (1076), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Nov 7, 2007 Updated: Jan 11, 2009GABF 2006-Wonderful columbus aroma. Lovely. Taste is pure columbus goodness back by a caramelly, honeyish malt backing. Very tasty. Contained bitterness. Would make a dangerous session beer. Hazy, dark orange/brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma is toasty malt, caramel, nutty, with citrus, floral, and resiny hops. Taste is malty and sweet, up front, with a nice amount of resinous, citrus and, to a lesser extent, piney hops in the finish. Moderate bitterness, a balanced IIPA? Very drinkable. Score will stay the same. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Nov 2, 2007 Can. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy hoppy, grapefruit, citrus, lemon, light malty, caramel. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (121007) after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Oct 30, 2007 12-oz can. Pours deep rubied mahogany, crystal clear, with a thick, sudsy tan head and plenty of lace. Toasty herbal hop notes all over the nose. Surprisingly light body, even on the shy side of medium, I’d say. Light carb. Nutty, husky, brown bread notes all over the place, and, holy cow, is this beer ever sweet. Tons of caramel and toffee. I really wish this was in a bottle so I could put it away for a couple years; it’s not undrinkably sweet by any means but it’d be interesting to see what came out the other side if all this sugar got to take a couple years off before cracking the bottle. But it’s a can. Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA Oct 28, 2007 Pour is amber with a white head. Nose is of hops and sweet malt. Taste is hoppy with a good sweet malt balance. Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated with a sticky finish. Finish is bitter, though not overwhelming.
