cprochak (388), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 8, 2009 On tap at the Tasty Weasel in Longmont on 7/16/09. Pours a great orange with a little off white head. Awesome pine and citrus hops aroma with a little vanilla undertones. Very well balanced sweet/bitter double IPA with a long lingering bitter finish. gdut (4), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Aug 7, 2009 Pours a robust, sitcky orangish/red. Somewhat fruity nose, but it disappears quickly. Rather sweet at first tastet. Dry-hopped and it shows in the finish. Overall the balance is unbelievable, the flavor powerful and tangy. A true gem and not just because the first time I had it was in the back seat of a car. I’ve had it several times since and it brings it. drseusszb200 (182), Florida, USA Aug 4, 2009 Smelled great typing on phonr tasted good can’t go into now great beer playing darts my shot and my screen is blank kopher (293), New York, USA Aug 3, 2009 copper, thin offwhite head.
thick musky hop aroma.
very smooth texture and balanced flavor, though a bit mild. there’s tons of caramel, it’s like candied hops.
medium-thin body and very light carbonation.
this is good, but not great. gsmitty80 (626), Washington DC, USA Aug 2, 2009 This is by far one of the most flavorful and power packed IPA’s out there. Drink a few of these and consider yourself a man. WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Jul 30, 2009 Pours a hazy orange with a thin off-white head. Strong aroma of grapefruit and apricot. Flavor is tropical fruits up front that is quickly overtaken by piney hop bitterness. Dry, biting mouthfeel. A decent IPA but a little overrated IMHO. arrogantb (694), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 30, 2009 Well, I have enjoyed this beer for a couple years now so here is one of my less-than-stellar reviews. Nice amber red color with a head that alludes to the gravity of the beer. Smells like fresh pines and hops. The taste is also very piney, hoppy with some tropical fruit flavors and reminds me a lot of Yulesmith winter. These two beers are helping me understand why people call them "Imperial Red" ales; they are much more malty than a standard DIPA but they still have a super hop element. This is definitely my favorite beer from Oskar Blues

Pours a hazy orange/red with a beige head.
There is lots of dried apricot in the aroma along with hay and weak notes of peach and pine.
Flavour is dried fruit especially apricot. Other notes is hay with some caramel in the back.
Its quite sweet with a nice balance and a very dry, slightly bitter, hay after taste.
