Enjoyit (1697), Vadum, Denmark Oct 21, 2007 Amber of color with an off-white head. An aroma of hops and weak notes of malt and liqurice. A flavor of malt, pines, citrus and a bitter finish. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Oct 18, 2007 12 oz. can from Plaza Liquor - Pours a clear deep copper color with a one and a half finger thickoff white head. Nice lacing. Light carbonation. Aroma is full of hops with some sweet doughy malt in the background. Flavor is mostly semi-sweet toasted malt, but has some nice hop flavoring left in there. Palate is slightly dry and bitter. Medium body. A good beer. iswain1914 (19), USA Oct 17, 2007 Hail Oskar Blues. Old Chub is damn good, Dale’s Pale Ale is outstanding, and Gordon is equally as impressive. Why don’t all American microbreweries remember the golden rule followed by Oskar Blues, Stoudts, and Bells? (Allright , Anchor and Sierra Nevada too....) BALANCE HEAVY HOPS WITH A MALTY BACKBONE!!!!!!! Is it that hard to remember or are most american "hopheads" simply tasteless little twits? Brew more beers like this, American brewers, and we will get worldwide recognition....something we do not, as of yet, deserve. DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Oct 16, 2007 12 oz. can, presumably fairly fresh, as this just reappeared in NC stores. A large rocky off white head with great staying power developed from this ruby/amber pour, and left excellent lace to boot. Aromas of burnt caramel, spice, citrus rind, and pine were evidence of the big, fresh hop presence. Resinous on the palate, with a pleasing medium body and light carbonation. A caramel malty sweetness balances well with a spicy bitterness, all complemented by a lengthy dry, but not overly bitter, finish. cschmelz (5), Yakima, Washington, USA does not count Oct 14, 2007 When the local beer store told me I should try this ’interesting’ beer in a can I didn’t think it was going to be a good idea. Wow was I wrong. Thick and sweet with a huge hop aroma and flavor. Floral hop taste is very powerful. Very similar to my favorite homebrew ever which was a Double IPA that haunts my dreams still. Wonderful surprise! gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Oct 14, 2007 Can. Dark, almost maroon with good cloudiness. Tiny white head that sits on the beer all the way to the end. A bit of burnt malts on the nose, near odorless. Really interesting flavor. Rich, sugary malts. Bitter hops. Warm alcohol burn. It all blends remarkably well to make a unique, drinkable heavy brew. thewolf (5662), Kolding, Denmark Oct 14, 2007 Can, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph. Pours a beautiful clear red amber with a medium creamy off white head on top. It leaves a good deal of lacing. Aroma is very floral hoppy with pine and caramel behind it. Upfront bitterness with good pine and fruityness is exchanged with a vinious sweet caramel middle with a finish in the medium bitter end. This is really a nice brew - bitter, fresh and sweet all at once. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 12, 2007 Thanks to KingpinIPA. Pour is a nice burnt orange with a nice big, white head. Aroma is of Orange, floral and sweet malts. Much more bitter than the nose would imply. Bitter upfront with a sweet finish. Body is medium and nicely carbonated. Good lacing on the glass.
