Freakin awesome DIPA- and a great example of how a canned beer can be every bit as good or better than a bottled beer. Pours a deep ruby amber- clear soft carbonation, and a fluffy off white head and kickass lace. Aroma is citrusy american hops, sweet pungent, sticky, piney, and grapefruit- as it warms a slight hint of alcohol becomes present. Sticky sweet caramel malts, but dominated by nice piney hops with citrus and mango-like hops. A bit of an alcohol kick, and very bitter overall. Fantastic DIPA. gnoff (3579), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Updated: Apr 18, 2007Draught pint at Sunset Grill, 8/5/06 and again on 8/6/06. Very pale appearance, a deep, pale-brass/golden color, with straw hints and just a slight shade of soft tangerine. Plentiful carbonation surges upwards, creating a foamy/rocky, white head that is well-retained, and creates minor lacing. Very dry, floral nose is lightly perfumed, quite bitter but not aggressively piney or resinous. Moreso a dry white grapefruit and lemon/orange rind, with dry, leafy green hop bud notes and a touch of yeasty, dry/dusty and b-vitaminish notes. Light peachiness and even a touch of melon emerges upon warming, as does a thick, but not bullish honey maltiness. Very pale in its malt bill, with only light suggestions of caramel and dry at that. Aroma strength is medium to medium-high, mostly consisting of hoppiness, but the dryness, without excessive acidity/astringent-bitterness, allows it to be a little more heavy on the hop/malt ratio without seeming too unbalanced. Dryness in the flavor is well carried over from the nose, showing a moderately grainy, pale malted texture that seems to have a fair amount of dextrins without mounds of sweetness/sugariness. Hop bitterness is medium-high to high, and though pushing the limits of my palate, I could see it described as only moderate to some. Grapefruit, heavy floral notes, lemons, tangerines, peaches and oranges all combine to keep things heavily dry to the last drop. Moderate to high carbonation, some yeastiness (dry, bland, lighltly mineral-like, nutty), no alcohol, though a touch of light warming. Towards the end of the glass, the acidity has built up, leading to a bit of a sting and sharpness felt on the palate. larsniclas (3391), Gothenburg, Sweden

Dark orange colour with average head. Musty, tea-ish hoparoma, something in between of citruses, grapes and nuts. Sweet malty with caramel and loaded with flavouring hops. Bit woody with rounded mouthfeel. Not as biter as the 2IPas but bitter enough. Very good, tasty beer. ratman197 (3273), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Pours a clear amber with an average size diminishing off-white head. Nice aroma of resiny hops and burnt caramel malt -- interesting! Flavour’s a more subtle version of the aroma with caramel malt and resiny hops. Alcohol’s well hidden. Medium bodied. Very good -- and from a can even!!
