Commercial Description:
Gordon is a dry-hopped hybrid strong ale somewhere between a Double IPA and and Imperial Amber Ale (IAA). Brewed in tribute to the late Gordon Knight, Gordon is brewed with massive amounts of American hops and features about 85 IBUs and 8.7% alcohol by volume. Once a winter seasonal, Gordon is now a year-round, limited-supply offering.

Deep golden amber, rich head. Woody, piney nose. I can safely say that cold this beer has little nose but once it warms up the aroma just jumps out of the glass. Caramel and crystal malts lead, followed by mangoes, mandarins and grapefruits. Again, infinitely more expressive at cellar temperature. A bit mild for the style - I like that - very well balanced and drinkable like it’s little brother Dale’s. Imperial IPA in a can...nice one. Just don’t put it in the fridge.

Appearance: Thick red diesel of old country, staring at you large jumpy crown. On sunny day light works great going trough substance appearing as red copper shine.
Nose : Aroma represents best of America West Coast Old School. Big , bold , solid hop infused with sweet yet not cloying maltose. Nothing new was discovered here. Strong hoppy aroma that was well done.7+
Flavor/Palate : After having few of Oskar Blues drinks I noticed it desired quality. Big , rich yet light and so cleanly executed. No rough berserks found here . All calculated, error free. This must be applauded and heard. From solid to solid. Amber malts are well made, alcohol smooth, big and satisfying. Matured straight from brewery there is no need for ageing at all. Highly recommended.

Can@Home. Aroma of red grapefruit, orange and light grassy. Light hazy, amber color, beige head, good lace. Very sweet, very bitter, very fruity, obviously malty, grassy. Thick, syrupy, cloying, warming. Very nice balance.

had this fine brew out of the can. has a murky maroon dirt color to it. the aroma is very floral hoppy and subtle. weird, tasting this reminds me of coctail.... fruit. I like it, it has a very different twist on the double ipa style.

Amber color. The body is less strong than you expect; it has an interesting citrusy and resiny hop aroma, toffee flavor, dry resiny hop final. Good.

Beautiful, bright dark amber color; big head. Powerful hoppy aroma, resiny, but also a bit fruity and cheesy. Good body strength, sweet malt and sweet caramel flavor, well balanced by the powerful hopping; the final is very strong, long, with very good resin footprint. Bold and straightforward, maybe lacking some complexity, but very pleasant.

Faintish but nice hop aroma, sweet too. Dark color atypical of IPA (attributed as such). Big luscious dark malts buoyed by a seductive deep hoppiness.

Nice looking pour. Amber brown with a one inch tan head. Spider web lacing. Nose is full of hop. This beer might be the cause of the hop shortage! Grapefruit and pine dominate the flavor with some sweetening caramel underneath. The hops provide a big bite along with tons of bitterness. Feels creamy. The ugly can told me this would be a cheap crappy beer. It lied.
