Commercial Description:
Gordon is a dry-hopped hybrid strong ale somewhere between a Double IPA and and Imperial Amber Ale (IAA). Brewed in tribute to the late Gordon Knight, Gordon is brewed with massive amounts of American hops and features about 85 IBUs and 8.7% alcohol by volume. Once a winter seasonal, Gordon is now a year-round, limited-supply offering.

Pours a very cloudy, orangey, gold with a thick, soft white head. The aroma is very hoppy but also intensely fruity. Citrus and hops combined with a fruity malt profile. The flavor follows the aroma - lots of soft fruit, strong malts, balanced well by a ton of floral and fruity hops. The balance is impeccable. The finish is both very bitter from hops but also very fruity and sweet with malts. The after-taste is very hoppy - but not bitter. The mouthfeel is very full bodied, but nice on the tongue - not syrupy. Overall - very delicious!

Clear copper pour with an off-white head, nice retention and lacing, lively carbonation. It has pine, citrus (mostly grapefruit) with a sweet malt aroma that I can’t quite put a finger on. Whatever it is it balances out the bitterness, and I expect that in the flavor as well. Has hop bitterness up front that slowly fades to a mildly grainy sweetness in the middle and a dry resiny finish. Moderately low carbonation, medium body, just a touch of alcohol warmth in the finish, but not solventy at all. Nicely done on this one, the Amarillo dry-hop does a beer good. Gimme this and Ten Fidy, please.

Deep copper color with a sticky, lacing head. Great aroma... lots of floral hops and earthy with good malty brown sugar smell. Flavor is about the same, but more malty than hop flavored (I prefer the hops). Very drinkable, maybe a tad too easy to drink with the high ABV.

Can. Dark amber pour with off-white head. Very nice aroma. Lots of sweet malt followed up with pine aromas on the nose. Well balanced, very sweet with a nice hop bit. More pine and some orange peel in the flavor. A bit thin on the mouthfeel. More sweetness/bitterness in the finish, along with a hint of heat.

Pours copper with an off white head. Smells of sage, pine, caramel, earthy. Tastes of bitter hops, resin, citrus, earthy finish. It is great to see an excellent IIPA in a can.

Can. Amber pour. Aroma suggest hop bomb, but flavor although hoppy is not a fiery as aroma would suggest. This is a great beer.

Can. Appearance: pours copper with a foamy off white head. Aroma: Sweet malts, brown sugar, and hops. Taste: Much of the same. Still sweet and hoppy flavors. Medium body with a nice bite.

I love Oskar Blues...this rating might be a bit prejudice: Pours a soft amber, with off-white head; Aromas of sweet malt (maple/caramel) and hops; Flavors of sticky sweet malt(’brown shugga’’ but better than Lagunitas Winter Seasonal by the Name+this one’s available all year), followed by a (not so)dry citrus hop bitterness. Very sweet for an ImperialIPA; Perfect medium body. Almost 9% c’mon!! Absolutely love it!
