jhumphries69 (718), Tyrone, Georgia, USA May 3, 2007 Pours a very cloudy, orangey, gold with a thick, soft white head. The aroma is very hoppy but also intensely fruity. Citrus and hops combined with a fruity malt profile. The flavor follows the aroma - lots of soft fruit, strong malts, balanced well by a ton of floral and fruity hops. The balance is impeccable. The finish is both very bitter from hops but also very fruity and sweet with malts. The after-taste is very hoppy - but not bitter. The mouthfeel is very full bodied, but nice on the tongue - not syrupy. Overall - very delicious!
Rustyham (552), miami, Florida, USA Nov 10, 2009 this is so good- like a thick dark blood orange smell and flavor, very malty and very hoppy. great balance between bitterness and thick malty body. slides down the throat dangerously easy. On tap at Abraxas Lounge, Miami Beach. joeneugs (291), Livermore, California, USA Nov 9, 2009 Orange/amber pour with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is full of caramel, pine, and peach. The flavor is caramel, toffee, and sweet fruit like peaches and apricots. Very thick and smooth due to low carbonation. It has a piney finish. Good, but not a very memorable IIPA,. BVery (446), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA Nov 8, 2009 CAN: reddish/orange pour, big frothy foamy white head. Nose of pine hops, citrus, and earthy notes. Nice creamy mouthfeel, great hop and fruit taste, well-balanced. Exceptional beer. tennessejed420 (69), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 6, 2009 12 oz. can. Orange amber nectar color. With beige head. Strong piney and floral hop aroma, lemon and berries. Rich hoppy taste with long finish, dried fruits, earthy edge. Overall very nice. PrinceofNessus (234), Westminster, Colorado, USA Nov 1, 2009 This beer is a high octane ode to the hops flower. It pours as a red thick liquid smelling strongly of hops and pine. Given this the flavor is surprisingly crisp and mellow though possessing of a very strong palate. The hops flavor is strong, though not overstated as can so often happen with American Cascade hops. The finish is hoppy and cleaner than could reasonably be expected. Of those Oskar Blues beers I have sampled thus far this is far and away my favorite. bblack99 (197), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Oct 28, 2009 12oz can pours a reddish amber with a clingy white head. Aroma and flavor are both a complex of fruity sweetness, tartness, and piney richness.
Medium body, crisp biting finish. Very VERY nice for a canned beer!
Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Oct 24, 2009 Can purchased at Liquor Mart in Boulder. Pours a nearly clear auburn with two fingers of creamy beige head and sticky lace. The nose is of sweet citrus and mango hop notes over a sweet amber ale-like malt note. On the light side of medium-bodied and slightly "grainy" with a big, bitter, lingering finish. The flavor follows the nose. It’s essentially a big, fruity and resinous hopped amber ale. This is a nice beer. I wish we could get it here in KC.
