Commercial Description:
Gordon is a dry-hopped hybrid strong ale somewhere between a Double IPA and and Imperial Amber Ale (IAA). Brewed in tribute to the late Gordon Knight, Gordon is brewed with massive amounts of American hops and features about 85 IBUs and 8.7% alcohol by volume. Once a winter seasonal, Gordon is now a year-round, limited-supply offering.

Aroma a little like ginger root and hops. Small off white head that simmered away with good carbonation. Some citrus notes with a malt mix. Good body and balance with some hop bitterness. Oskar makes some good cheap ass looking beer.

Can from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a mostly clear red with a big frothy off white head, tons of lacing. Big nose of citrus, pine and toasted malt. Flavor was a bit more malty than expected, palate was (like the can says) sticky!! A great brew.

Hoppy and tasty. Good strength. Another fine brew from Oskar Blues. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest.

Bottle courtesy of gford217: Poured a deep brown color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bitter and citrus hops are dominating. Taste is also dominated by those citrusy and bitter Qwest Coast hops with a nice caramel malt profile that is overshadowed by the hops. Full body with some good carbonation and no discernable alcohol behind all those hops. One-dimensional for sure but still very tasty and nonetheless a beer I wouldn’t mind having access on a regular basis.

A Mes rate: Bottle at the Tom’s awesome Twickenham Brewery tasting.
A gorgeous rich amber colour with a thin off white head. Massive cheesy and resinous hops with some lovely fruit. Bitter finish. A little over the top. Straight forward but not amazing.
