Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesnít end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 10% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness.

$15.49/4 pack. Central Market. San Antonio, TX. First off HOP BOMB.A transparent orange beer with a good head that fades in a couple minutes. The aroma was a hop bomb and I love it. Very nice with a ton of citrusy hops, very grassy, danky, and spicy. The taste is sweet at first with a big grassy taste, citrus, and then very oddly meat. Yes thatís right meat. Why does this beer have a meat taste, well it is a big beer I guess that explains it. It finishes with a punch of bitterness and is so low carbonated I think you could say it is almost flat. Itís like throwing a beer drinker in a boxing ring with a bunch of hop cones punching you repeatedly.

Wierd beer. The aroma is hops, sweatsock, musty, rotting wood, earthy. Must have been extensively dry hopped with a wierd hop. The flavor is odd, too. Solvent, furniture polish, leafy, earthy, caramel. What the hell did they dry hop this with? The appearance is yellow/gold, slightly orange, white head. The body is thick, the mouthfeel a little oily. The finish is again the wierd earthy, musty taste. This probably was a decent, middle of the road IIPA, and they tanked it with something. Still, I could drink this again if offered. But I wouldnít pay the $4 I paid for this can.

Pours hazy orange gold with edges of peach coloring, supported on top by a decent sized fluffy white head. My first impression of the aroma is a mix of fruit, specifically pineapple, green grapes, and mango, and of course some floral hops are there. Not bad at all, but a bit soft. The first few sips are not what I expected at all. The hops are not as aggressive as most Imperial IPAs. In fact the hop bill feels subdued, or even masked behind other flavors. Bready malts and caramel set the tone on top of a spicy zest and Summit hops. I think I would have preferred more of a variety of hops instead of using strictly Summit. The body is smooth and somewhat creamy, slides down nicely. But thenÖwhat the hell is that smell? At first itís hard to pick up on, but then a pungent odor causes major distractions. Itís quite peculiar, hard to initially pinpoint. Is that onions? Yes I think thatís what it reminds me of. With every sip I am subjected to a strange whiff of onions and meat. Something that needs to be experienced for yourself. Very unconventional. After this encounter with unusual smells, my palate is thrown off course. The hops I crave lurk behind buttery notes and malt. As much as I want to love this beer, I donít. I keep hoping it will get better, but it doesnít. In the end I just want my $17.50 back (for a 4 pk). I did try this later with steak and mash potatoes covered with fried onions and it was sooo much better. Complemented the food very nicely. In fact, the spice and onions hid the beer previous imperfections. My suggestion is to paid with food.

Can from Brewtopia, pours a clear light orange/amber with a medium sized sandy cord head quickly dissipating to a thin film. Grassy woody pine hop aroma. Flavor is sweet and woody. A litle furniture polish in there too. Some kind of wierd fruity slant. Smooth slick palatte. Soft carbonation. A bit odd.

This beer was excellent. It had a very robust aroma and great taste of dry hopping with a flash of citrus.

Can from South Bay Drug. Pours amber with a 3 finger foamy, ringy, clingy off-white head. Aroma is authentic cat piss. Medium body with mild, creamy carbonation. Flavor is strong caramel with an incredible amount of hop. Very citric/grapefruit. Finishes very, very bitter. But itís not a harsh bitter. Brilliant.

pours out a gold producing a 2 finger thick off white frothy head that fell at a pretty slow rate. the body is a hazy pale orange with some co2 present. the aromas are pungent, a little spicy, malty, hoppy, skunky, and yeasty. theres also some citrus and or lemon present. it is medium bodied and starts out malty with a hop storm right behind the initial finish. the mouthfeel is creamy, and it finishes creamy. its really balanced and pretty enjoyable. not a bad beer and very refreshing.
