COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesn’t end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 10% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness. Columbus in early and mid kettle.
** This beer will now feature different hops in the massive dry hop every year.
2014 - Sorachi Ace, Mosaic, and Chinook. Incredibly complex mix of lemon zest, pineapple, red berries, peach, and a hint of dank earthiness.

aroma is sticky caramel that defies pale appearance: translucent lemon with spotty head and less lacing. elements of toast in malty aroma intensifies quickly. flavor is mellow grapefruit with crunchy toffee background. great malt character provides more then simple balance, ABV comes on quick, this is a neck snapper.

Clear light amber color/ off white head. Big pine hop, skunked hop aromas. medium bodied/ light carb. Decent bitter pine, grapefruit, cat spray hop flavors on a solid pale malty base. A bit too hoppy bitter.

Hangover (1082) - Atlanta, Alabama, USA - JUN 10, 2010
Amber-golden pour with a nice white head. Aroma is hoppy with grapefruit, citrus and melon. Sticky, resinous hoppy mouthfeel. Nicely balanced with an equally flavorful malt presence... woodsy with heavy caramel. No hint of the high abv. Overall, this is extremely tasty and the malty sweetness really makes this one a quaffer. Dangerous in a can but delicious nonetheless.

The pour is a deep orange that is mostly clear with a small fleeting white head. Citrus rind aroma and a nearby forest with damp pine forest nearby. Sweet, mango fruit flavor that somehow manages some dryness in the finish. Very fruity & juicy.

Pours apricot, but like a lager, clear, 2 inch, lasting dome head.head is dense and a pleasure to look at all its own. Aroma is strong resinous hops and floral sweetness. A bit dank. The can may have hurt this one. Rhubarb, vegetable, just kinda foody overall. Medium body, light fizzy mouthfeel. Sort of delicious still in a weird kinda way.

12 oz can. Amber colour. Clear. Medium-sized white head. Bold hoppy aroma. Grapefruit and grass. Very bitter on the tongue. The body is also quite substantial and the beer feels somewhat balanced, even though the bitterness is a little overpowering. Delicious beer, especially if you like hops.

Orange amber, small beige head.Piney sour citrus nose.Big citrus hop profile, sweet malt mid.Quite unblended with harsh alcohol heat.Unpleasant. A poor offering from a good brewery

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours an innocent, light amber with a soft, white head. Much effervesence. Mostly caramel malt aroma with some citrus. Flavor is very sweet with some fruity hops. Medium in body, semi-oily. Not overly bitter, just overly delicious.

yellowish and brilliantly clear with medium white head. huge nose of spicy herba and citrus hops. very pungent. firm bitterness before the above mentioned hops just demolish the palate. the malt character is of spicy rye malt and a bit of crystal, but alcohol definitely comes through at the end somewhat muddling the brew. overall a great double IPA, but the end isn’t ideal

wow. pours light amber with almost no head. sweet and piny aroma. complex flavor, citrusy followed by a big bite of hops. can’t taste the high alcohol. very well done. it doesn’t get much better than this.
