COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each year GUBNA takes on a personality of its own. We seek out the most exciting and best available hops from each individual season to create a potent and complex Imperial IPA. GUBNA is packed with Rye and North American Pale Malt and accented with Munich Malt to give a spicy and flavorful backbone to support loads of kettle hops driving the IBUs to triple digits.
** This beer will now feature different hops in the massive dry hop every year.
2015 - Features whole leaf Galena hops, plus Sorachi Ace and Columbus hops. Dry hopped with copious amounts of El Dorado, Comet and Chinook.

The pour is a deep orange that is mostly clear with a small fleeting white head. Citrus rind aroma and a nearby forest with damp pine forest nearby. Sweet, mango fruit flavor that somehow manages some dryness in the finish. Very fruity & juicy

Pours attractive light copper with a full frothy off white head. Nose is dank and funky with grapefruit and herbal hops. Same in the flavor with a touch of spiciness and a dry bitter finish.

(12oz can). Pours hazy apricot color with thin white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, leaves and funk. Taste is bitter with some sweet/sour action. Medium bodied with oily texture. Carbonation is fizzy on the tongue and finish is bitter. A decent DIPA, but could you a little sweetness to balance it out.

(can - 12 oz) Cloudy orange pour with mild carbonation. Huge citrus and hop nose. Very herbal and spicy. Sweet and citrus notes begin the flavor but move to a very spicy and earthy hop combination. Spicy throughout and into the finish with a very bitter and lingering aftertaste. Surprisingly, the spice and citrus fade quickly leaving only the bitter.

Pale orange-yellow, whitish foam. Drippy lacing. Heavy caramel, herbal hop aroma. Taste is grassy, sweet malt, apple. I dunno, weird, not bad though.

Tons of citrus and pine hop flavors grounded in bready malt sweetness with a touch of warmth from the alcohol. Nice beer.

Pours a nice amber almost gold in color. Nice head. Very citrusy/hoppy aroma, but not overpowering. Drinks smooth with a nice big hop hit, but still drinkable. It seems well balanced for a 10% ABV beer as the can states. I wish I could afford to buy many more of these great beers.

Finally found a single can of this at Half Time. Pours clear dark orange with small white head. Aromas of orange, tropical fruit, sweet malts, and some dank hops. Flavors of hop bitterness, sweet caramel malts, tropical fruits, orange zest, and some other citrus. Probably not the freshest can. Thought this was going to be loaded with sweet malts but it is fairly balance even with the faded hops. Booze is fairly well hidden. Pretty drinkable for such a big DIPA, but one can is probably enough. Better than what I was expecting.
