3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Imperial IPA all the way, baby. My favorite style of beer just became more awesome. I love when I can continue to solidify my list of favorites with more proof that they’re awesome. Gubna poured a clear pale orange, almost peachy color, with a thin eggshell head breaking into wispy lacing and thin patches. Sticking my nose into it, I came away with pine, a weedy marijuana/hemp, and a zesty bite of bold pink grapefruit. All together it was very bright, but dank, and I had a hard time finding anything sweet in it - hops all the way. Once in my mouth, the pine dominated my palate, closely followed by waves of lemon-rind hops, grass, orange peel, and pink grapefruit. By the end I had a thick, bitter aftertaste of dry pine on my tongue, regardless of the lighter mouthfeel. The carbonation added a nice spicy twang to all of the hops, almost rendering it "springy." I found that it reminded me of SanTan’s Count Hopula with all of the pine and grapefruit running amok, which is in no way a bad thing as I find Count Hopula to be one of my favorite beers. If you need a way to wake up in the morning, skip your coffee and dip your tongue in this - note: I’m completely downplaying the punchy bitterness here.

Can from W&M Mansfield. Poured into a snifter. A murky golden amber with a frothy off white head. Strong and sweet aromas and flavor. Very heavy sticky body with notes of bitter pine, herbs and floral notes. Very muddled. Not very fresh tasting. Too sweet for my liking.

Pours golden with a white head giving a rich nose with presence of rye. Taste with a lots of hops and some round bitterness with citric tones. Palate leaving it long lasting. Nice at the fireplace....

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bought by mistake -meant to grab G’Knight. I do enjoy dipa’s though, so no worries. This pours a deep gold with white cling. Aroma is tropical fruits and apricot. Flavor has a dankness and citrus to add to the tropical fruit notes. Not bad, but this is viscous stuff, and the lingering aftertaste is both bitter and dank. Really well-masked alcohol though.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can as a birthday gift from Pix. Cheers! Pours golden with a nice big frothy white head. The aroma hits as soon as the can is open. Pungent pine. The taste starts sweet with pine before spice and caramel. Sweet tropical fruits throughout too. Grapefruit and mango. Lovely creamy mouthfeel. Excellent beer.

Rätt ljus och rätt klar. Humle och beska och en rejäl alkoholsmak. Smörkola och sprit.

Aroma and flavour have lots of candied, caramelised tropical fruits. It’s fresh and fruity up front with the bitterness building up throughout. Feels very smooth and refined. Hard to believe it’s 10% alcohol.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can... Pours lightly hazy and orange with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma features vegetal elements of celery and onions accompanied by citrus fruits and floral notes. Full-bodied and chewy with modest carbonation. The flavor provides a bold and hearty malt backbone, but the true flavor profile is all about the lupulin. Big-time hop bitterness, graininess and spiciness do the heavy lifting here. Finishes bitter, vegetal and grassy.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Vivid orange. Light haze. Skim of white, clingy head. Looks ace. Soapy, lemongrass hop. Coconut milk. Sorachi goodness all the way through this. Taste is punchy bitter. Plenty of milky, nutty sweetness. Smooth, rich mouthfeel. Really easy drinking. Finishes rich, silky, easy bitter. Lovely.
