COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesn’t end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 10% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness. Columbus in early and mid kettle.
** This beer will now feature different hops in the massive dry hop every year.
2014 - Sorachi Ace, Mosaic, and Chinook. Incredibly complex mix of lemon zest, pineapple, red berries, peach, and a hint of dank earthiness.

12oz. can. Pale yellow and transparent, with an active head on the pour. The head fades fairly quickly and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is mostly citrus with some resinous pine in the background. Taste is mostly citrus, grapefruit and tangerine, and overpoweringly so, as it really wreaks havoc on the palate. Perhaps the Summit hops are not to my taste, but this seems overdone. There’s not enough behind the bitterness to carry it properly, especially onto the back of the tongue for the finish. It’s kind of like POP! and you’re done. It’s an ok brew, but for OB repeats, it’s still Ten-Fidy and Gordon.

Pours a golden yellow with a foamy white head. Has a citrus and hops aroma. Flavor is tropical fruits, spice, and lots of bitterness. Somewhat sweet, but the finish is quite dry. Great beer!

Can. Ok, that’s a bitter beer. Has some kick too. Gold in color with a nice head. It is weirdly strong on the citrus side. Taste is well like a really bitter, alcohol tasting IPA.

The aroma is hops - spruce, grass. Pours a yellow/orange, clear with a big frothy head mostly diminishing with excellent lacing. The taste is bitter. The body is light to medium, creamy with average carbonation and the finish is a long bitter. Very good.

On tap at Rustico. Pours a clear dark golden orange color with one inch of white head that settles quickly to lacing. Aroma is citrus with slight spicy quality. Flavor is aggressive and big: hoppy bitterness with swet malt presence that is ultimately masked by forward alcohol presence. Bitter aftertaste, overall unbalanced to my taste.

Can. Orange/grapefruit malt and grapefruit peel/pine aroma. Golden yellow with nice off-white head. Sweet tangelo malt and moderately bitter grapefruit peel. Nice body.

The body has a hazy golden orange color with visible carbonation. From the Aggressive pour I got a tall, creamy off white head that has great retention and makes lots of spotty lace on the glass. Its aroma is full of strong musty and citrusy hops with a touch of earthy tobacco and grainy/bready malt. I get a strong full bodied hit of hops up front and throughout on top of sturdy grainy/bready maltiness. Up front the hops hit me with citrusy grapefruit like notes which turn dank, musty, earthy, piney and resiny with a slight tobacco like note in the finish. The alcohol is noticeable and adds its own warm character to the mix. Hop bitterness hangs on the tongue deep into the finish.

pours a murky gold with a bubbly white head. Aroma is floral hops. Taste is bright then bitter. Nice long hoppy finish. Pleasant and easy to drink for a 10%’er. Good beer!

Tap. 10oz pour at happy gnome. Dark gold. Subtle hop aroma. Hop throughout but with different types and levels to it. Well rounded and fairly soft for a dipa. Alcohol well hidden. Solid work. Good on gubna.

Can. Dark amber pour with a good white head with foamy lace. Piney hop, citrus and sweet malt nose. Sweet, full, thick, boozy flavour with some very robust resinous hop bitterness and decent fruity notes. This is what DIPA’s should be like, and as such enjoyed this very much.

On tap at Taps. Pours a slightly hazy golden color without a bit of head. Harsh alcohol that smooths out a little as it breathes. Strong creamy hop flavor.
