COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesn’t end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 10% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness. Columbus in early and mid kettle.
** This beer will now feature different hops in the massive dry hop every year.
2014 - Sorachi Ace, Mosaic, and Chinook. Incredibly complex mix of lemon zest, pineapple, red berries, peach, and a hint of dank earthiness.

A slight but good aroma of hops. The citrus & malts show up more in the scent. The beer is bitter but not extreme in that category. Gubna will affect your palate. This is a solid IIPA. I will have to give this another go. My brew wasnt fresh.

Can from Total Wine. Pours amber with head and hardly any bubbles. Smells of citrus and pine (in that order) and tastes the same with a super dry finish. I like this one a lot.

Can @ home. Pours orange with an off white head. Aroma is a lot of citrus and pine. Flavor is orange, citrus, piney rye. Very nice, but not sure if worth the price.

On tap for $3.50 a pint at brews brothers. Really like this beer. Happy to see it added on tap by me. Love the sweet caramel taste with the pungent summit hops. Very well balanced. Nice juicy citrus happyness.

Draft @ Three Fires. Tropical fruit, piney hops, biscuity malt, and vanilla aroma. Clear gold with a large off-white head, creamy lacing. Citrus, grapefruit rind, spruce and rye spice flavor. Medium creamy body, soft carbonation.

Poured from can to glass. Clear amber straw hue with fizzy white head. Aroma is huge with essences of sugars, melon, caramel, orange, mango, pine, ripe limes, straw. Mouthfeel is fantastic with a full body and great carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout but not cloying with a nice rounded bitterness following and a sweet ethanol finish. Overall, this is a fantastic I2PA.

Can from Lazy Dog. Pours a transparent amber with a thin layer of cream colored head. Aroma of very nice floral hops. Taste of citrus upfront that fades to a pleasant hoppiness.

Can from Zach. Thanks! This hides the 10% alcohol well because I didn’t even realize it until I read the can. Bursting aroma comes out with citrus, floral, and I got some nutty and toasty malt from it. Appearance was amber, clear, with decent size head. Almost positive I got a hint of berries when drinking it. Also got citrus, spice, and a nice sweetness to start. Not very bitter at the end. Overall solid beer.

Pours a hazy blonde-golden with a thick eggshell cap that hangs around and leaves some intricate, soapy lace. Nose involves plenty of tropical fruit, passion fruit, juicy fruit (the gum), citrus, some melon, and some subtle spice along with some cocoa butter. Pretty sweet flavor, but also pretty bitter, balanced. Medium to full bodied, quite oily, juicy, with a drying bitter hop finish. Really tasty, very "summery," does not seem as strong as it is. Love the juicy-ness.
