COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesn’t end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 10% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness.

A bit of a confused beer this one. It’s at once sickly sweet and too bitter. Gently perfumy, and aggressively pungent. Complex but made up of simple blunt notes. To say "I don’t like it" just doesn’t do it justice. It’s not a bad beer, just that the parts don’t come together to form a pleasing whole, for my palate.

aroma is malty with some citrus hoppiness, subtle floral quality appearance is the model for ipa’s nice lasting sudsy then foamy white head cloudy orange red/amber color..tatste is like the aroma its an east coast ipa style for sure even thoughn its from colorado with hoppiness up front then citrus qualities then bitterness then the malty background..not as strong of a hoppy flavor as some but this isnt necessarily a complaint..tingly and smooth mouthtfeel bitter aftertaste that begs you to have more.. excellent drinkablitly well masked abv generally strong flavored but balanced and smooth.. given an extra overall point for having one of the most accurate commercial descriptions Ive ever read as usual good stuff from oskar blues

Draft poured golden hue w/ white head. Big hop aroma. This is my kind of IPA a strong malt backbone with a flavorful hop a moderate bitter finish. Lovely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From can picked up at Ryan and Casey’s. Small head, and fairly clear amber body. As outlined, a citrus aroma (I don’t get the grapefruit they suggest; more tart orange), but with a bit of honey coming through as well. Smooth, and fairly clean body -- especially given the heat on this bad boy. Crisp finish. One of my favorite IPAs around.

12oz can---->snifter, Pours a cloudy gold with a fluffy white head and great lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, lemon zest, bubblegum, and grapefruit. Taste is a great blend of sweet malt and tropical citrus. Most IIPAs go overboard with the malt sweetness, but not this one. Medium palate with great bitterness. This is a VERY SOLID IIPA.

Draught at Mad Mex. Poured darker orange with a finger of head. Strong sweet light citrus aromas. Quite smooth everlasting hop flavors. Sticks around well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

A gigantic DIPA!!! Canned on 2/27/13. A big grainy, honey, caramel, malt base, layered with resinous herbs and citrus. Not a West Coast hop bomb.. More of a 50/50 malt/hop balance.. Big grainy, honeyed malt, mixed with a big, resinous, hop bitterness... And high alcohol.. Long, lingering finish of bitter citrus and resinous herbs and florals.. A straight up huge DIPA. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont Circle, March 2010. Pours a transparent amber with a thin white head. Aroma has lots of super sticky, sweet citrus and some alcohol. Taste is citrusy and hoppy, but the citrus is too sweet and somewhat medicinial. Finish is bitter, but not enough to wash away the sugar.

Taken from old notes. Draft. Typical DIPA nose of citrus. Nicely balance body with a bitter finish that makes for an easy drinking DIPA.
