3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can to goblet dated less than 3 weeks ago, fresh. Pours a light med gold with 1/2 inch head receding with some lace. Aromas of sweet malt, caramel, mild bready/yeast, light floral, mild ripe fruit that intensifies a little more upon warming. Pretty mild and subtle if much of any hop character. Taste is some sweet caramel malt of the lighter variety, spicey toast malt, hoppy in a biting just general hoppy flavor, with a spicey pine maybe being predominant. Foamy med full body, a bit of off yeast at times, fairly clean ipa, sort of a minty pine/ peppermint and alcohol in finish. Fairly dry, drinkable. Not too sweet or alcoholy but it is strong with a bite to it. Overall not bad for a double ipa its size but this doesn’t inspire me as a double ipa this size either. Too expensive, I can think of at least a dozen and more this size I would buy before this on average... but this is probably above average. This actually might be one the cleanest IIPA’s Ive ever had and I mean that in a boring one dimensional kind of way.

Draft. Clear gold. Great frothy white head. Lots of hops but great balance. Some alcohol. Lighter full body. Creamy. Tropical. Great drinkability for an imperial IPA. Would have thought this would be more aromatic.

Pour is a hazy bright golden with a large white head. Aroma is all full of dank hops. Flavor is again all dank hops with a large mint before the swallow. Very easy as this goes down. Very smooth and hoppy with no alcohol found.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big fat malt backbone, citric, resinous, spicy sorachi ace, ABV noticable, but well integrated, amber colour, medium white head, medium bite for the style, noticably sweet and warming, aromatic and powerful.
Fullbodied, average carbonation, warming finish.
Not a fan of sorachi ace, but in this brew it Works rather well.
