The body has a hazy golden orange color with visible carbonation. From the Aggressive pour I got a tall, creamy off white head that has great retention and makes lots of spotty lace on the glass. Its aroma is full of strong musty and citrusy hops with a touch of earthy tobacco and grainy/bready malt. I get a strong full bodied hit of hops up front and throughout on top of sturdy grainy/bready maltiness. Up front the hops hit me with citrusy grapefruit like notes which turn dank, musty, earthy, piney and resiny with a slight tobacco like note in the finish. The alcohol is noticeable and adds its own warm character to the mix. Hop bitterness hangs on the tongue deep into the finish.

Tap. 10oz pour at happy gnome. Dark gold. Subtle hop aroma. Hop throughout but with different types and levels to it. Well rounded and fairly soft for a dipa. Alcohol well hidden. Solid work. Good on gubna.

Can. Dark amber pour with a good white head with foamy lace. Piney hop, citrus and sweet malt nose. Sweet, full, thick, boozy flavour with some very robust resinous hop bitterness and decent fruity notes. This is what DIPA’s should be like, and as such enjoyed this very much.

On tap at Taps. Pours a slightly hazy golden color without a bit of head. Harsh alcohol that smooths out a little as it breathes. Strong creamy hop flavor.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
It poured an orange color with a white head. The aroma was of bitter citrus, sweet malts, herbal/floral hops, some pine, light tropical fruits and light caramel. The taste was similar to the aroma with a medium body and mouthfeel. Very nice.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a strong beer even for the style. The hopping level maybe doesn’t quite justify the extra gravity but this is still probably worth seeking out for IIPA fans. It is clear golden orange in color. It has a foamy, white head that leaves behind lace in sheets. The hop character here is very fruity but more along the lines of berries and melons rather than the citrus you normally expect. It is pretty sweet on the tongue but firm resinous bitterness stops it from cloying. The most interesting thing about this is there is a tannic character that comes off a bit like vanilla, which compliments the creamy texture quite well. The finish is a bit quicker than I expected and despite the sweetness and a bit of an alcoholic burn on the back of the throat, this somehow drinks lighter than it is. It is a ten percent alcohol beer that seems at home in a pint glass. I’d kind of rather have a beer that tastes the same or slightly less sweet but I’d imagine there will be lots of people who will like this just as it is.
