Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesn’t end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 10% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness.

growler. Overly grassy, sharp hops & sweet malts follow the strong (but not 10%/100+ ibu strong). Sadly, this growler stayed in a thermo bag in my car until warm then re-chilled... will try again.

Poured from can to glass. Clear amber straw hue with fizzy white head. Aroma is huge with essences of sugars, melon, caramel, orange, mango, pine, ripe limes, straw. Mouthfeel is fantastic with a full body and great carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout but not cloying with a nice rounded bitterness following and a sweet ethanol finish. Overall, this is a fantastic I2PA.

Can from Lazy Dog. Pours a transparent amber with a thin layer of cream colored head. Aroma of very nice floral hops. Taste of citrus upfront that fades to a pleasant hoppiness.

Can from Zach. Thanks! This hides the 10% alcohol well because I didn’t even realize it until I read the can. Bursting aroma comes out with citrus, floral, and I got some nutty and toasty malt from it. Appearance was amber, clear, with decent size head. Almost positive I got a hint of berries when drinking it. Also got citrus, spice, and a nice sweetness to start. Not very bitter at the end. Overall solid beer.

Pours a hazy blonde-golden with a thick eggshell cap that hangs around and leaves some intricate, soapy lace. Nose involves plenty of tropical fruit, passion fruit, juicy fruit (the gum), citrus, some melon, and some subtle spice along with some cocoa butter. Pretty sweet flavor, but also pretty bitter, balanced. Medium to full bodied, quite oily, juicy, with a drying bitter hop finish. Really tasty, very "summery," does not seem as strong as it is. Love the juicy-ness.

Wow! Watch our for this one. 10%ABV hidden well. A very good double IPA (maybe a triple?) by Oscar Blues. Just what you would expect! Enjoy! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this on a gravity pour. Poured a nice copper color and had no lacing whatsoever. Tasted of hops and citrus...mostly grapefruit. Perfectly bitter and dangerous at 10% abv. A must try if you see it on gravity!

Can to snifter. Pours an attractive copper with a wee bit of head and nice lacing. Powerful citrus nose, though not overwhelming. Smooth, clean delivery--particularly given the potency. Slightly sticky with a nice boozy kick at the end. More greatness from Oskar Blues.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2014 Pour is hazy tangerine with small 1 finger head. Crazy lacing. Aroma is fairly dank, leads with pine resin and supported by alcohol, and caramel malt. Orange peel on front of tongue is engulfed by waves of deep malt. Lovely sensation, as competing tastes wash over the palate. Fairly dry in the finish. Some of stated bitterness has vacated the premises. Can not fresh so this beer has potential to be better, I’m sure.
