Each year GUBNA takes on a personality of its own. We seek out the most exciting and best available hops from each individual season to create a potent and complex Imperial IPA. GUBNA is packed with Rye and North American Pale Malt and accented with Munich Malt to give a spicy and flavorful backbone to support loads of kettle hops driving the IBUs to triple digits.
** This beer will now feature different hops in the massive dry hop every year.
2015 - Features whole leaf Galena hops, plus Sorachi Ace and Columbus hops. Dry hopped with copious amounts of El Dorado, Comet and Chinook.

Growler with my FIL and neighbor on the new deck! The most balanced and quaffable IPA I have ever had. There was just enough hop to call this a IPA but no more. I think the IBU number is a bit high. The malt base of this was strong and the dark Munich and rye malt really stood up and played well with the hop bitter. The first blast of hop from the growler was a tad muted but opened up like crazy as it warmed. The feel was perfect not too thin or thick, the finish was longer than the brewers description mentions, this is not a bad thing. The finish was fairly long and enjoyable, morphing from the hop bitter to the malty bite of the rye then to a soothing dark. One thing the shocked me was the 10%. It is nowhere to found, except in the bottle of the bottle.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste caramel, pine, earthy. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Nose is strong with the pine and citrus but light of dank or tropical. Very clear pale orange color with a large white head. Taste is immediately orange marmalade and sugar with a moderately firm bitterness. A very light and smooth alcohol warming is complimentary and a touch of pepper. Yum.

2015 release. 4 oz chilled pour into a cylindrical tasting glass from tap at the brewery’s taphouse. Fresh as can be! Super clear and dark yellow. Pleasant head with good retention. Fairly full bodied and creamy. Taste is very hop forward-- citrus and grapefruit with a kind of mulch/herb aftertaste. Lingers on the tongue. Very bitter with a dank nose. Kind of dirty tasting. Too dank and aggressive of a beer for me.

Dark orange pour, dense head. Smells of grapefruit and pineapple, maybe even peach and apricot. Mouth feel it’s dominated by booze and bitterness. Aftertaste of sweet fruit and hop notes.

Can. First time I've had this one. Semi-clear orange. Aroma is boozy peach juice. The taste adds green leafy hops with tropical fruit juice on the finish. Smooth yet, bitter boozy mouthfeel. Awesome! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Citrusy aromas, spicy, piney, caramel, floral, a vast hop bouquet supported by toasty, bready malts. Hazy deep orange with a somewhat lasting off-white head. A little sweet upfront followed by a burst of hop flavors and a spicy feel, some hints of creamy coconut like from a pina colada mixer. Medium bodied, pretty damn smooth.

Appearance: the beer is a hazy yellow color, pours with a very large and dense beige head Aroma: caramel malt, pretty faint under all that thick head, milk Taste: alcohol warmth, strong bitterness throughout, citrus, very strong caramel malt base Palate: heavy mouthfeel, soft carbonation, bitter aftertaste Overall: a bit too much alcohol Taste for me, still pretty good balance of malt and hops, it's got lots of both, ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
