Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesn’t end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 10% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness. Columbus in early and mid kettle.
** This beer will now feature different hops in the massive dry hop every year.
2014 - Sorachi Ace, Mosaic, and Chinook. Incredibly complex mix of lemon zest, pineapple, red berries, peach, and a hint of dank earthiness.

Very simple yet sharp aroma. Hoppy aroma. The flavor is a battle between over-hopped and over-malt. The two never mix together. Tasty elements yet leaves something to be desired. In honor of the world series...a swing and a miss.

This is a solid imperial IPA. Tons of hops from the beginning to the end. Not too sweet but a plethora of bitterness. Quite good stuff.

Rated from notes taken 25 Feb 2012 -- This is a very good malt forward IPA. The hops are balanced with a bit of an earthy flavor and aroma. Good standby IPA.

Smells a lot like Hop Stoopid but doesn’t taste anything like it. The only hop used here is summit. I like it. Very nice malt profile and the taste is very much oniony and dense, You know this is a 10% beer. The same hop used to bitter Human block head? I’m not blown away but I had to try this. Not bad at all.

Aroma is sweet with tropical fruits, citrus and very mild pine. The taste presents a round tropic flavor with quite a lot of sweetness, ripe pineapples and maybe a touch of honey. It’s a litte sticky and ends the visit by sneaking out the backdoor, leaving you with a medium bitter, but down to earth, sensation. I detect a small hint of alcohol lurking in the back.

Wonderful aroma, thick clumpy lacing. Taste is oranges and other citrus, a hint of cough syrup sweetness, with a smidge of alcohol warmth. Be careful, this one will sneak up on you.

Wow this is a surprising beer. Pours cloudy light orange. Cinnamon spice aroma, maybe a Bourbon flavor--stronger than expected because of the color.

Can from Bishops Arms, Helsingborg. Smell has some fruit and hops and is very sweet. Pours clear golden with a rich white head. Taste is a bit bitter with some nice hopiness. Palate is oily and sticky. Overall a nice beer, though a bit sweet. Looks very tasteful!

Can @ home. Pours hazy golden with big and bubbly white head. Aroma is grassy. bread and citrus. Taste is a little bozzy and hoppy with mostly grapefruit. It’s sweet, full bodied and thick. The booziness continues and the hops turn into pine with and slight bitter earthy finish.
