3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 arrogantb (1398) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 10, 2012
On tap at Rackhouse Pub, I’d heard about this and was happy to get a shot at it. This is definitely a strong ale and not a DIPA. Dark amber orange color. Smell is hoppy pineapple and sweet malts. Flavor is sweet, malty, fresh hops, alchol and malt. A little too sweet for my taste and really is a strong ale but overall not bad. I’d rather they made a fresh hopped dale’s though.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 RSRIZZO (1810) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2012
On tap at Old Chicago Colorado Springs (1/27/12). Color is a hazy amber with good carbonation and a small tight head. Aroma of fresh hops and sweet malt. It has a full body with a rich mouth feel. Flavor starts with hops giving a bold citrus that seems to lean on orange then some pine and grapefruit and ends with a sweet maltiness. After taste is bitter with some of the citrus lingering. Overall its a good brew just a little over hopped for my taste.

Extremely drinkable IPA. An uncharacteristic sweetness to the brew makes it easy to swallow - and I love IPA’s. Splendid blend of bitterness, malt and sweetness make this amber colored brew a winner.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 drunkenpolack (319) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 1, 2012
The hops used in this beer were grown on their Hops and Heifers Farm. Pretty cool if you ask me. This beer is not an IPA but a nicely hopped American Strong Ale. Pine, grapefruit, and caramel pretty much make up this beer. I could see them possibly canning this beer one day and I hope they do. I liked it so much I bought another pint later on.

Draft-appeared a cloudy deep gold, thin head, plenty of lacing. Dominant orange zest and earthy hop nose. Extremely balanced, less hop bitterness than I expected due to a nice malt sweetness coming through. Medium mouthfeel, dry grapefruit finish, very pleasant and drinkable overall.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2012 On draft in a tall mug at Old Chicago?s. Orange/ light amber in color with a thin white head. A bit hazy also. Good lacing. Not real impressed with the nose- get some boozy sweetness with the hops taking the background. Great flavor overall- lots of candy sweetness upfront, lemon, pepper, and a strong alcohol finish. Lingers on the palate.
