COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first lager produced with the 20 bbl brewhouse. This pilsner is a clear golden color. Four additions of Saaz hops lend a spicy-floral hop component.

Look what I found in Michigan! Pours a mostly clear, straw gold with a thick eggshell cap that settles quickly, leaving touches of soapy lace. Nose involves spicy noble hop notes, some fresh hay, bread, and biscuits. Lightly sweet with a some bitterness. Crisp and clean, lighter bodied, not too active on the carb, with a decent length doughy and hop spiced finish. Definitely easy drinking, with some nice pilsner character that I enjoy.

Can 355 ml from Bier-Bienne (CH). Sparkling blonde with a white and nice foam drawing laces. Aromas of malt, hop, flowers. The mouth is creamy, soft and firm at the same time, with a rustic bitterness of Saaz. Balanced and very fresh, hints of bread, trace of honey. Dry and crispy.

Can. Straw yellow color, somewhat hazy but mostly clear, thin white lacing. Aroma of hay, grass, floral. Medium sweet taste. Light body, thin texture, hint of bitter in the finish. Tasty and refreshing pils.

Canned 2/25/13 "Skippy Hour", so the beer’s only two weeks old. Sweet! I was excited to try some Oskar Blues, since they just recently started shipping some of their staples to Michigan. Appearance: Crystal clear... really just looks like yellow water. Brilliantly attractive (makes me sound British...). There’s a nice, pillowy white head that’s about one finger and sticks around. Lacing’s virtually nonexistent, but that’s no big deal. Smell: Right on the front I can tell you that I find that this beer smells (and tastes) like a QUALITY domestic beer. The smell is of mellow malts that I get in most adjunct lagers, but there’s nothing "off" about it, which I get in a lot of AALs. Perfectly mild and malty, as a pilsner ought to have. Taste/feel: Solid, solid, solid... almost exactly like the smell, with what seems to be a dash of hops on the finish. I hate using the word, but this really is a CRISP beer. I love the sweetness I get on this one, and that fantastic malty, mild hop taste on the finish. Like I’ve said, it’s like a well made domestic beer. Keep in mind I’m two beers deep, but I’m really trying to focus on this beer and look at it as un-buzzed as possible... I really do think it’s a very solid beer. And the fact that it comes from a can? Forget about it. Mama’s Little Yella Pils HAS to be (keep in mind this is my first craft can) my favorite canned beer. Even if I happen to stumble upon a bigger, better, and bolder craft beer in a can (regardless of style), I seriously feel like I’ll be coming to this beer again and again to be my go-to summer beer. It’s just wonderfully flavorful (while still being light), easy drinking, and tasty. Definitely try it out.

12 oz. can from The Party Source. Canned 10/12/12. A little old but not too far. "Pils Are Good" on bottom of can under the date; appreciate the reference. Pours a semi-cloudy bright yellow-gold with a finger of rocky eggshell white head that leaves trailing lace in the glass. Aroma of straw, grassy and floral hops, bready and dry pils malts, and crackers. Flavor of green tea, grass, straw, pils malts, and floral notes. Light-bodied, with crisp carbonation and a slightly bitter mouthfeel. Really nice pils.

Tap. Pours mostly clear yellow with thick, creamy white head. Aroma is straw and biscuit malts, grassy hops , light fruit, and light herbs. Flavor is light bready malts forward with supporting light fruit esters, straw, and faint hops; dry finish. Light body and low carbonation.

Not my favorite pils.A little bit of a strange sweet flavor. Some german hop finish but not that noticeable. Wouldn’t really buy this, and there are several other better options for me.
