4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This only rated 3.12 as of October, 2012. This makes me suspect that either this stuff is incredibly inconsistent or people just don’t like a good American craft lager. This is rather more Pilsner-like than most American brews billed as such but still is very much from the country it’s brewed in. It’s a nice golden yellow w/ a scant but lasting head of fine bubbles. The nose is rather brighter than I’d expect from a Pilsner but quite nice w/ loads of floral character. Flavor too is nice and clean w/ a firm citrus-rind bitterness in the finish. There is a touch of sweetness but fine carbonation helps keep it perfectly drinkable. There is really a lot to like here and a good deal of complexity for a lighter brew. This isn’t really a Pilsner--meaning it does not taste like a European pils--but it gives you pretty much exactly what you’d want out of such a beer.

12 ounce can from Woodman’s in Janesville, WI, served a few minutes out of the fridge in a New Glarus pils glass. Close-to-perfect pils pour, deep gold with a lasting frothy white head which laces well as it so slowly dissipates....lovely grassy, farmy aroma - thistles and hay - with a touch of mildew and a bit of honey, it’s the cool of an old barn in the shade after walking in the hot meadow in springtime...light sweetness in the body with some mineralic hardness throughout, growing dry noble hop bitterness as we cycle through the palate, nice honey-sourdough bready texture...just a tiny bit lighter in the body than I would prefer, carbonation somewhat low for the style - but all in all this is a really fine example, with a more aggressively bitter finish than most but very drinkable all in all.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can. Yellow in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas are of light pilsner malt, minerals, hay, and lemon peel. More light malt and lemon on the palate, along with some spicy herbs. Light bodied with a pleasantly firm chalky bitterness. A bit simplistic, but it’s nice and clean with the right amount of bitterness. Solid.

Schooner on-tap at Brewdog Doghouse, Glasgow (£3.61):
This one wasn’t too bad a pilsner from Oskar Blues, it was crisp & quite clean with some early sweetness alongside a light citrus & grassy hop flavour. There was some background fruits & it proved quite easy to drink, my biggest complaint being that it wasn’t quite as strong as I’d have liked but it was a decent beer despite this.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma; pale malts, dough, hops, bread, grain, yeast, orange. Look; warm off white head, near clear pale orange-golden body. Taste; fruity malts, hops, orange, juicy bread, leaves, grass - leading to an orange-bread’ish finish. Feel; juicy, normal carbonation. Overall; premium. With its mandarine notes, it’s a quite women friendly pilsner too. [33cl.can 5.3% BB.12.12.2016 B@Vinmonopolet]

Crisp og typeriktig pilsner med fin strågul farge. God karamellfylde som hever den over gjennomsnittet. Lettdrikkelig uten unoter.

Just got curious about the beer on tap. Had one as a wild car @ Peloton, Oslo. Cud not say first what I really liked about it. But realized it has a nice tart taste and a delightful smell of apricot. The color is golden/copper. The tone is a bit hazy. A great thirst quencher after work. Nice job from Oskar Blues. Hopefully they can ship over more goods.
