COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2009 Osktoberfest was designed to welcome the change of seasons. Smooth, earthy, Noble hops are gently paired with the rich tones of German and American malts. Brewed with a true German lager yeast, in a small batch and limited release. Smooth and easy-drinking at a modest 5.0%ABV, festively effervescent, and designed for a full day of celebratory revelry under the Rocky Mountains.

Marzens are not my favorite kind of style of beer but I enjoyed this one and would easily drink a pint or two. Crisp, toasty, malty, with a slight undertone of fruit. Nice drinkable brew.

On tap at the Liquid and Solids location. Pours with a clear amber-brown body with a lasting off-white head leaving good lace. Aromas are grainy, malty, caramel and oddly estery/fruity for a lager. Flavors are nutty, grainy, grassy, light caramel and lightly herbal. Some salinity. Medium bubbles. Light bodied and medium-dry.

Crushed at the original OB. Pours a light reddish brown with a smooth head and excellent lacing. Earthy, slightly hoppy aroma with a hint of spices. Very smooth mouthfeel and a nice sweet flavor with a light bitter hop presence backing it up. Hella sessionable.

On tap at OB Liquids and Solids. Clear dark dark orange with a thin small lasting head. Nose of lagery biscuit malts, with some bread yeast and raw dough. Flavor is really big though. Nice big biscuity toffee, lager yeast and toast, and subtle bitterness enough to balance, very malty and tasty.

Clear dark red orange. Medium spice aroma, not as musky as some. Clean med-bodied palate is a little burned/roasted with a very lingering finish.

Growler at WBF. Dark brown with small tan head. Aroma of skunky malts, caramel and light hops; lots of German inspiration. Taste is lightly bitter and not very complex, but good. Finish is lightly sweet and somewhat spicy.

On tap at O.B. Homemade Liquids and Solids poured a clear dark reddish amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of carmel, fruittiness and brown sugar. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, toffee and light fruittiness with a crisp lingering malty finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Malty and lightly fruity aroma, plenty of caramel and faint apple, berry and mildly herbal hop. Medium-dark copper color, head is very fine and slight. Malt dominates the flavor, sweet and sugary plenty of caramel and mild toast, with a very gently fruity finish an almost imperceptible bitterness. Gentle red apple skin undertones. Light-medium amount of effervescence, body is light-medium as well. Lacking somewhat in balance.
