4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draft at Tasty Weasel for Ten Fidy Friday during GABF Week. Pours that Ten Fidy black as hell with a dark tan head. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate, sour cherry, wood, some tart qualities, and some lactic notes. Flavor follows: think chocolate and roast with big tart cherry and lactic, Very nice beer, but quite a bruiser at that ABV.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This version of Ten FIDY poured up at the brewpub on tap with the typical Ten FIDY amazing deep dark void look that supports an ample mocha head of foam. The aroma offers up a pleasing mix of deep dark roasted malts and chocolate brownie laced with a mild cherry to slightly sour note. The taste delivers a wonderful play between the rich dark roastiness, chocolate and sort of chocolate milk shake feel as well as some modest cherry fruit notes and a sour fruit note. Damn, this just all comes together wonderfully with terrific balance, depth and richness. Oskar Blues, I think I love you.

Tap at OB. Loved this brew! Nearly black, chocolate brown head. Tart chocolate covered cherries and a hint of roast and old woody vinegar. Flavor is sweet then tart, cherries, chocolate, roast, and wonderful!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Didnít really dig this much, it was clearly good just not my thing when I was digging a full 10 fidy vertical. Pours a similar jet black color with a small white head. A big sour funky nose with cherries and glue. The flavor was a battle between the awesome ten fidy roast and fruit and sour lactic notes and cherries. Decent.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at rare beer tasting at Rackhouse pub, 2011. Described as Stranahanís Barrel Aged Sour Cherry Ten Fidy, was the first place I went for sure. Pour was oily viscous black with thin very dark tan head, aroma was intoxicating with big dark chocolate, coffee, roast, dark fruit, vanilla, bourbon, and a nice balanced dose of black, sour cherry skins. Taste was even better, somehow, with the chocolate and coffee making a mocha of the beginning, leading into a slightly sweet but mostly sour cherry note, leading nicely into a vanilla, bourbon and dark fruit middle, finishing oaky, dry, bitter, and nicely warming. Amazing, amazing stuff.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sampled at the Paramount Cafť Beer Festival, pre-GABF on September 28, 2011, Denver, CO. Black pour with a brown head. Wonderful boozy dark chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit aroma. Beautiful blend of chocolate and cherry that is no where near as heavy as I would have expected. Slight alcohol warming. Outstanding.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap, City Beer Store. Delicious soured imperial stout barrel-aged with cherries. This beer pours thick and black with very little head. The aroma is nicely balanced between Ten FIDYís rich dark malt flavors and what was imparted by barrel aging with sour cherries - oak, cherries, funk, sour. There is also a fruity vinous character to the beer. The oak has dried out the base beerís flavor some. Brett funk is stronger than acidic sourness but neither flavor is too strong. Itís actually a rather drinkable beer. I hope that we see more soured stouts in the future because Iíve loved the few examples that Iíve come across so far.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at city beer store on 3/26/10. $10 for a tiny snifter (4 oz). Ouch.
Appearance - Pours dark black like Ten Fidy with minimal to no head, but still decently carbonated.
Aroma - Brett funkiness, some cherries, and a little roasted malts still left.
Flavor - Sourness level is actually not very high. This beers seems more brett than lacto with funky brett flavors married with some subtle cherry flavors and a little roastiness. Due to the brett obviously, the sweetness is gone from the TenFidy and it has a nice dry profile.
Drinkability - Very. I didnít really discern too strong an alcoholic kick and the sourness is light to moderate.
