COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oskar Blues has released a special draft-only seasonal beer for the winter months. Ten FIDY Imperial stout is a titanic wonder of a stout, immensely viscous, and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats. It’s the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with Whoppers malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Also affectionately known as Ten W FIDY (i.e., 10W-50).

Editor’s Note: The brewery has had the ABV tested at a lab, which came out to 9.4%.

Darkness Day 2011. Pour looks like oil - dark and thick. Drinking it doesn’t dissapoint. It is thick in ones mouth and tastes of espresso, hops, chocolate.

Pours out thick and black, much like a motor oil, but the flavor is smooth and creamy. It drinks heavy but smooth, very good.

Can. Black with a thin, almost non-existant brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, malts, olives, soy sauce. Taste is sweeter than the aroma, with more big roasty flavors. Has a bitter, roasted, salty finish. Full bodied, oily, creamy texture. Soft carbonation.

Favorite stout. Thick and robust brew here folks. Rather smooth w mild carbonation and thick oily resin. Semi-sweet and pure joy to consume this dark as night concoction. Full body and emense flavor profile yeilding hints of molasses, chicory, espresso, dark chocolate and rum.

Can with Alice and Sander. Pours black with a dense, brown cream. Ultra ballsy stuff. Big roast, peat, chocolate nose. Big sweet flavor, some licorice, cocoa, burnt earth, strong roast. Full bodied with average, smooth carbonation. Fair warming finish, strong dark, lightly bitter chocolate, some earth, moss, peat, licorice, light alcohol. Lasting cocoa. Very, very good.

Out of a can: Pours almost motor oil black, but not quite. Very little head (if any) appear caramel color. Not a lot to smell, seems like all or the flavors are being held down in that dark thickness. Wow! so much flavor in this one. I get the usual coffee and chocolate flavors through they are not dominant, plus some toffee. Sweet malts, cola and a little grapefruit come through. Has a creamy mouth feel with a clean finish and pleasant bitter sweet after taste. The alcohol is hidden for being 10% abv, i guess it has a lot of flavor to hide behind. I love this, and I will go out of my way to try the barrel aged Ten Fidys. Must try for a stout lover!

black, with a minimal chocolate colored head. Very smooth tasting, with notes of chocolate and toffee. Maybe some roasted coffee on the back end. Slightly sweet aroma of chocolate.

Can 33 cl, Ölrepubliken. Pours pitch black and thick as crude oil with a smsll ring of creamy brown head leavin some lacing. Aroma is intense alcohol, fruity sweet, dark fruits, roasted, soy, licorice, coffee, dark sirup and molassis. Flavor is fullbodied velvety, sweet, roasted malty, licorice, coffee, fruity and bitter. Finishes bitter roasted snd fruity.
