Can: Super viscous pour, black as night with a creamy, tan-leather head that caps off the abyss nicely. Powerful nose; roasted & burnt malts, grains, cocoa beans, espresso, & mild char. A touch of leafy, herbal, & ashy tones blur the line between roast & bitter hoppage at times. Undertones of anise, molasses, & dark fruit. First sip shows the insane mouth feel of this beer. So thick & chewy, I need a goddamn fork. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, creamy espresso, with an overcasting of light figs, raisins, & even some black cherry that remains sweet, never getting tart or twangy. Good addition of sweetness from the malt up front that leads to a more roasted, woodsy, & bitter back-end. Faint herbaceous notes, charred nuttiness, a hint of smoke, ash, bitter chocolate... Wow. Really love this beer.

Nez de mélasse, alcool, cassonade. En bouche, c'est pas trop sucré, soyeux, alcool, caramel brûlé. La finale est soutenue, alcoolisée, chaude et caramel. Très bonne stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can at home, imported from Stockholm, 20th March 15. Shit the bed, this is a good imperial stout. Pours clean, nice tan head, aroma, caramel, leather, liquorice, alcohol. Taste is up front liquorice, sweet, but the high ibu kicks in for the balance. Loads of leather, sweet slightly salty liquorice. Smooth and really enjoyable. First Impy in a can. Excellent beer

(can) pitch black colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of heavy roasted malts and grain, with some light brown sugar, vanilla, a touch of herbal hops, caramel and alcohol. flavour is more alcohol and lots of ash, with a hint of rose pettles, some treebark, more brown sugar and a medium toasted-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation. not much going on here.

pours thick black like motor oil. smells of sweet spices and light cedar wood, cocoa, candy sugar and booze a much more delicate aroma than expected. tastes roasted malt, cocoa, warm booze, light pine/wood. Palate is viscous and gorgeous. A great Imp Stout.

12oz can, popping up at the already impressive BA import counter of Derer’s, BKL ’15 - FR. Courtesy of oldmanriver, cheers. Thicker creamy caramel pour. Mars bar candy, more refined roast, molasses and cognac in the aroma goes into deeply saturated roast malt textures, going almost into a savoury register of caramel and chocolate, aided by a nice supporting bitterness. Despite massive caramels cigar-dry, well-rounded and fulfilling like a cocoa-coated cigarillo dunked in brandy...
